Puttur, Feb 8: The police have arrested a man for allegedly raping a young woman at a farewell party in a guest house.
The accused has been identified as Brian Richard Amanna.
As per the complaint filed by the woman, a bank employee, she had attended a farewell party held in a guest house at Kodippady for her friend.
The guest house is owned by a person named Akash Serrao. The party was held on the night of February 5, and around 17-20 people had attended. While some of the guests returned home after the party, four people including the girl and the accused Brian Richard Amanna remained in the guest house as it was too late to travel.
The woman had slept in a separate room. In her complaint, she alleged that at around 5 am, Brian entered her room and raped her.
The complaint has been filed at Puttur women’s police station.
Police have registered a case under IPC sections 328 and 376 and have arrested the accused. Further investigations are in progress.
