Mangaluru: FIR filed against Jagadish Adhikari; Pratibha Kulai stirs row over Rs 1 lac bounty

Daijiworld Media Network - Mangaluru (SP)

Mangaluru, Feb 8: Former city corporator and Congress leader Pratibha Kulai has stirred a controversy by announcing a cash reward of one lac rupees to anyone who blackens BJP leader Jagadish Adhikari's face. She said she would pay the amount to any Billawa community youth who paints Adhikari's face black within three days.

In a live video on Facebook, she warned Adhikari that he will not be spared if he does not visit the Garodi of Koti and Chennaya within three days and tender unconditional apology. She also urged Adhikari to apologise to former union minister Janardhan Poojary.

"Many Billawa youngsters have been murdered in the name of Hindu organizations and hundreds are languishing in jails. Noticing these things, in the past, I had asked the people to join the organizations if they are prepared to die. This statement is being given different meanings but I am committed to what I said," Pratibha stated.

She also asked Adhikari, who she said, has slighted Billawa community as well as Koti and Chennaya, not to enact the 'farce' of apologising by sitting in a non-discreet corner.

Non-bailable case

Meanwhile, a non-bailable FIR was registered at Moodbidri police station against Jagadish Adhikari on Monday.

Moodbidri Brahmashree Guru Narayana Swamy Seva Sangha president Raju P K and other Billawa leaders had lodged a police complaint at Moodbidri police station on Friday February 5 that legal action should be taken against Adkikari for making derogatory statements against Koti Chennaya, Billawa community and Billawa leader Janardhan Poojary.

Accordingly, a non-bailable case under IPC 295(a) and 505 has been registered against Jagadih Adhikari.

I would like to put some points. I totally agree that Jajadish Adhikari did a blunder by talking against Billava community. Forst and foremost i'm surprised that Umanath Kotian has not uttered a word. He must get up and say that Adhikari has done a blunder. So what if both are from BJP. Mudabidare was always a Congress bastian but due to Abhaychandra blunders BJP won in a majority. If you undivided Coastal karnataka Billavas used to always vote for the congress. This used to be the tradition. Later in later 80's or starting 90s stalwarts (Janardhan Poojary, Oscar fernandes & Veerappa Moily ) started tasting defeats. Defeats are due to taking advantage of Billava votes but not doing anything. Anyhow this is going on even with BJP with some modifications. Kalladka Prabhakar Bhat who is a brahmin. I always see all his followers during any procession, function etc are billavas. Why is this so? This is all a lesson for a community to be united. Now the issue is Billava community is voting only to BJP. I mean the majority. I used to always say we do not have 1 leader who can give a challenge to Nalin Kumar Kateel. Why is this so? The previous candidate Mithun Rai was not the right candidate and even if he was they should have made offficial 6 months before work on it. Even now i dont see any major activity from Mithun Rai. If he was aggressive he should have made a big issue. He is very silent because we all know he is very close to Adhikari.

This award of 1 lakh for blackening face of Adhikari / Ahankaari / Adhikaprasangi should be open to all castes... BJP has one in-house face blackening expert i.e. Meera Raghavendra who has done this recently... same lady will take up the challenge and will do it on this person...

Jagadish Adhikari is 100% wrong but why this lady is provoking poor Billawa community youths. She herself can do this job of blackening the face of Adhikari or her father or her husband or her son or her brother any one can do this job know. Everything is politics in our District.

Hats off to Pratibha for saying every single word she meant. It took a woman to tell the politicians of Mangalore and the whole of India to keep every religion out of their agenda and not disrespect any religion which is valued by every person of every religion. We were known to be a socialist, secularistic, democratic republic all the while and co-existed peacefully. But the agenda of some political parties is to disrupt this and dictate terms to the voters/citizens who in fact elected them. Do we need to be told what to do and what not to do. The way the geo-politics in the world is taking shape, politicians voted to power want to make sure they continue to occupy it indefinitely. What we need is a CHANGE, when, who and how is for us to decide NOT BE TOLD!

@Manohar Udupi Learn from farmers movement after once they are labelled with anti national and khalistani. It has become obvious trend at this moment under BJP rule whoever go against them are exploit with anti nationals, urban nexalite and pakistan. You are right its internal matter but even if it not so , you dare not to coin hard working working community billawas antinationals since they are in majority across the coastal districts..
