Mangaluru, Feb 9: Newly-elected district Youth Congress president Luqman Bantwal on Tuesday February 9 said that under his leadership, concrete steps would be taken to revive the Congress party in Dakshina Kannada.

"To revive the organisation in the entire district, the Youth Congress will form a committee in each village in the district," he said, addressing his maiden press meet after being elected as Youth Congress president.

"Committees will be formed in all the villages of the district within three months. The committee will be formed on the basis of party ideology and principles. The members of the committee will also attend orientation programmes that will be held for four days in different places."

"The committee will work to spread positive nationalism against communalism in the district. Further, it will expose and create awareness on the propaganda of 'Godse nationalism' and fascism to the public. Youth Congress members will also work to educate people on the history of Congress and its ideology, highlighting the sacrifices of Congress leaders during the independence struggle, contribution of Congress to the country through the IT revolution, green revolution and land reforms."

Without naming BJP, Luqman said that the people who were with the British, were now projecting themselves as nationals by projecting Congress as "anti-nationals through their fake narrative of nationalism". "Youth Congress will educate people on the real narrative of nationalism, democratic rights and the constitution," he said.

"Communalism is being propagated to divert people's attention from the real problems of the country. India is a secular country. We will face right-wing activism and fundamentalists through soft socialism and secularism but not with violence," he said.

Hanif Kateel, Chittaranjan Shetty Bondala, Anil Pai, Sanjana Chalwadi. Sahul Hamid and others were present.

CONgress last won the LS seat in Mangaluru in 1984 under Janardhana Poojary. After that its BJP which is winning the seat, same kind of influence amongst other coastal seats Udupi, Uttara Kannada and now in Shimogga. CONgress is actually in wilderness in coastal districts

Readers, is it not true, that the INC had a dubious, unholy alliance with SDPI, AIMIM, IUML, AIUDF to checkmate the Nationalist BJP ??? Today these fringe parties, have swallowed the vote bank of the minority community. " Lock, Stock and Barrel " leaving the grand old party, in a state of " Limbo " The majority community, have booted them, whereas the minority has forsaken them !!!!

Same old rethoric. Bashing BJP, Modi, Amit Shah, Godse, RSS is an old and outdated strategy. It only reduced Congress to 44 and 55 with the President being booted out from his 80 year old bastion to run to Wayanad and win on Muslim votes. The wise thing to do is not to tread on this path, unless you are previliged of being allotted a safe Muslim Constituency.

Boss, you have a bigger issue at hands now .Forget Godse, BJP etc. Look at the electoral results in the recent GP elections. SDPI and other regional parties .You have to counter then or defeat them first . Think on that for the next decade or so.

Kuch naya bol yaar !!! Committee will be formed .? When the committee members are asked by the common people on what they are doing differently,? and what their parties achievements are,? the committee will have no answer. A rout in the elections will follow and the committee will have only one way out then , ' blame evms'.
