Bengaluru, Feb 14: Leaders of ruling BJP in Karnataka or at the national level may frown on the Valentine's Day and assert that it is alien to Indian culture with the Sangh Parivar activists even openly expressing their opposition. But not so for the Bengaluru International Airport Ltd (BIAL), which operates the Kempegowda International Airport.

BIAL has created a record of sorts by exporting a whopping 273,000 kg of roses to 41 destinations all over the world. This includes 170,000 kg to international destinations and 103,000 kg to prominent Indian cities.

A total of 9 million stems of roses have been flown from BIAL, which must make the floriculturists very happy.

The international destinations include Singapore, London, Dubai, Kuwait, Kaula Lampur, Auckland, Beirut, Manila and many other cities.

In India, the destinations include Mumbai, Kolkata, Allahabad, Bagdogra, Chandigarh, Jaipur, Chennai and Allahabad.
BIAL has exported 6.4 million stems of roses to International destinations while it was 2.6 million stems of roses in Indian cities.
