Brahmavar: Within 24 hours, police arrest six accused in Naveen murder case


Brahmavar, Feb 15: The police have arrested six persons in connection with the murder of Naveen Naik at Hosur near Guddeyangadi here, within 24 hours of the crime.

The arrested have been identified as Gautham (27), Manoj Bhandari (30), Dhanush (27), Chetan Kumar (24), Tilak Raj (36) and Siddharth. All of them except Siddharth are residents of Malpe.

Among them, Gautham was arrested soon after the incident.

A Ritz car used for the crime has been seized from the accused.

Naveen Naik (43), a resident of Hosur, was beaten to death by a group of six late night on Sunday February 14, reportedly after he questioned Gautham over his alleged affair with a lady neighbour.

Brahmavar circle inspector Ananthapadmanabha, Brahmavar PSI Gurunath Hadimani and staff from Brahmavar, Malpe and Udupi police stations took part in the investigation and arrest operation.

Udupi SP Vishnuvardhan congratulated the police teams for nabbing the accused within 24 hours of the crime.
