Mangaluru Feb 16: MLA U T Khader on Tuesday February 16 condemned the arrest of Bengaluru-based climate activist Disha Ravi in connection with the 'toolkit' on farmers' protest that was posted by international teen climate activist Greta Thunberg.

Addressing a press meet here, Khader said, "Toolkit is just an open document. What was the need for arresting Disha Ravi in this case, just for forwarding a tweet made by a foreigner? Every party’s IT cell has a toolkit. As per my knowledge, it is just an open document, there's nothing secretive about it.

"This is nothing but suppression of freedom. Why are Karnataka chief minister and home minister silent when a Bengaluru-based climate activist is arrested? It is shameful to see state government’s silence and surrender to suppression," he said.

"The motive is to silence those who stand in favour of farmers and quell the farmers' protest. The state government should come up with a clarification and break its silence over the arrest of Disha Ravi," he added.

He also informed that Ullal government hospital will soon have a new AYUSH block worth Rs 35 lac. "The funds for the same have been sanctioned. The foundation stone of the new block is expected to be laid this week. The intention behind the new block is to avail Ayurvedic, homeopathic, allopathoc, and Unani treatment under one roof."

Regarding the Talapady tollgate issue over FASTag implementation, he said that district in-charge minister Kota Srinivas Poojary along with MP Nalin Kumar Kateel, deputy commissioner and officials from Navayuga along with representatives of bus associations should conduct a meeting to resolve the problems. "The problems at Talapady tollgate are on the rise, with city buses and local buses refusing to cross the tollgate due to toll collection for local vehicles."

If there is any procedural lapse, then court will definitely take Delhi police to task. Supporting the farmers is one thing but the joining forces which is planning to create disturbances in India is different. these activist confessed/admitted that they have edited toolkit and joined the zoom meeting with Khalistan sympathisers. Why don't these politicians now questions those activists.

Mr, Khader , I think you should start contesting from a constituency outside Ullala and win . Only then people will take you seriously. The chats are out and transcript is shown on every new channel. When her messege is loud and clear, what are these opposition shouting for ? i am sure even those who gave statement critizising the police must be arrested and interogated. Communists and congis are taking the indians for a ride.

Bewildering to understand as to why the opposition, namely the INC, is constantly committing " Hara - Kiri " Citizens of India are acutely conscious about the diabolic gameplan, to disgrace, humiliate, disintegrate our nation, at the hands of frustrated out of power political netas !!! Delivering such nonsensical gibberish, will further alienate and subsequently discredit them future in the eyes of our citizens.....

Disha has nothing wrong and the right to protest peacefully against Farm laws is a democratic right enshrined in our constitution. One can organize protests by using any mode, it could be Took Kit, Whatsaap or Pamphlet. This is a classic case of a vendetta by the BJP. Delhi Police have not arrested Kapil Mishra, Anurag Thakur, and others for instigating Delhi riots but are quick to arrest a girl who is supporting our Farmers.

Congratulate Khader Ji for showing the courage to question Disha's arrest while all the rest are keeping silent. The manner in which the arrest was made deserves condemnation by all who value freedom of speech. Just imagine that farmers also would have to seek redressal from such magistrates as per the new farm laws instead of the regular courts. The judicial system is increasingly being manipulated to silence critics and what we are witnessing is more as a rule than an exception of citizens being remanded to Judicial and Police custody as a matter of routine. The police have the authority to issue summons and question anyone in the police stations and the judicial system should discourage remand and give predominance to Bail rather then Jail. What we are witnessing is an undeclared Emergency more severe than the declared emergency by Indira Gandhi.

Daniel, you wouldn't say that if Delhi Police came and arrested you and took you to Delhi without informing local police or government. You may be BJP IT cell but it not worth it.
