Udupi’s Shilpa Hegde elected to Liberal Party of Australia's state committee

Udupi, Feb 18: In the election held for the state management committee by the Liberal Party of Australia led by Australian Prime Minister Scott Morrison, Shilpa Hegde, who is a Kannadiga from Perdoor in the district has been elected. The state committee has the power to take important decisions.

Shilpa happens to be the daughter of Mohandas Hegde and Shashikala Hegde from Perdoor. She was born and brought up at Perdoor. After completing her engineering education at Nitte, she has been working as software consultant in Australia from the year 2001.

She has been ranked second among the ten most popular politicians of Australia. In the federal election of 2013, she had fought as a candidate of the Liberal Party from Wills constituency.

Shilpa is actively involved with the Liberal Party of Australia with the support of her husband, Dayanand Hegde, and family members, for the last 20 years. She has expressed elation at having got a spot in the management committee.
