Delhi court sends 'toolkit' case accused Disha Ravi to 3-day judicial custody

New Delhi, Feb 19 (IANS): A Delhi court on Friday sent climate activist Disha Ravi to three-days judicial custody in connection with the 'toolkit' case.

The 21-year-old activist was produced before the court amid high security at the end of her five-days police custody.

Ravi was arrested from Bengaluru on February 13 in connection with allegedly editing and sharing a 'toolkit' on social media related to the farmers' protest.

During the course of proceedings, the Delhi Police told Additional Chief Metropolitan Magistrate Akash Jain that Ravi has been evasive in giving replies during the interrogation and shifted the blame onto co-accused Nikita Jacob and Shantanu Muluk.

The police requested the court to send her to three-days judicial custody, as they have served a notice to co-accused Shantanu, who will join the investigation on February 22, following which both will be confronted.

"She has been evasive in giving replies. We have served notice to co-accused Shantanu who will be joining the investigation on February 22. She has to be confronted with co-accused," Public Prosecutor Irfan Ahmed told the court.

The prosecutor added, "During the course of interrogation, Disha Ravi has shifted the blame on Nikita and Shantanu. All the accused need to be confronted with one another. That's why three days judicial custody is being sought."

The court was also informed that Disha Ravi has moved a bail application which will come up for hearing on February 20.

The Cyber Cell had lodged an FIR against "pro-Khalistan" creators of the "toolkit" for waging a "social, cultural and economic war against the Government of India".

On February 14, the Delhi Police took to microblogging website Twitter to elaborate on the case. It wrote, "Disha Ravi, arrested by Delhi Police, is an Editor of the Toolkit Google Doc and key conspirator in document's formulation and dissemination."

She started WhatsApp Group and collaborated to make the Toolkit document, the police said, adding that she worked closely with them to draft it.

"In this process, they all collaborated with pro Khalistani Poetic Justice Foundation to spread disaffection against the Indian State. She was the one who shared the Toolkit Doc with Greta Thunberg," the police wrote on Twitter.

When the Congress party ousted the British and won independence, it promised Indians a Government of Democracy. It kept its word. The people who sided with the British did not want Indians to have either freedom or democracy. Even today they do not understand the meaning of democracy! Democracy means everyone has a right to voice opinion, and everyone - from top to bottom - carries a SINGLE vote. That is how some countries are FIRST-WORLD today.

Excellent. It is high time these young people realise that India should not be taken for granted .Like child labour they use/lure innocent girls and destroy their career. India is the ONLY country where people come out openly to support criminals, terrorists and for every and any unlawful activity AND get 100% support from the oppn party as they failed to win peoples votes.

Now analyze this with an open mind people. At 21, she knows her involvement is in illegal activity against the nation. At 21, she knows her name on ToolKit could be a problem for her. At 21, She knows that she needs to consult lawyers. At 21, She knows that her activity can get UAPA slapped on her. But according to XJP and the Leftist cabal, she is just at the tender age of 21. The entire Leftist cabal is rattled and outraged because they know she is the weakest link in the chain and not trained to hold secrets. She will wet the pants in one slap! .As I've said many times before, "THERE WAS NEVER EVER A FARMER PROTEST!" . Farmers were dragged in to carry out the anti-national plan. Yes, she already started blaming her two other accomplices ,shantanu and Ms Jacob will soon sing like a canary

This is a new profession now. Earlier people with no other qualification or skill used to choose politics as their profession. But since BJP came to power, most politicians must show some results and voters are smarter. Therefore, many such useless characters became jobless. Now they chose new profession of becoming "activists". All these so-called activists have no clue what they are talking about. Environment? Human rights? Is this Greta not using toilet papers to save papers or Disha not using plastic bags? These are all losers. All of them will disappear over the period of time since they don't have any base except support and finance from anti-national elements. Indians are smarter than before and do not care for such losers. Jai Hind.

She deserves punishment for her sins. She worked against India's interests and when confronted , she puts total blame on others. Why not she say the truth and face the law instead of hiding under freedom to speak .

I dont see any difference between supreme court of India and the central govt. as far as sedition cases are concerned. There is nothing wrong in sedition law and it should be in the statue book, but it has been grossly misused by the successive govts, and its misuse has become more and more after bjp govt. came t power in the centre under Modi. The Supreme court and the High Courts have power to quash the FIRs if the contents doesn't amount to sedition even at FIR stage. but they have failed, they can even grant them bail if cases are suspicious but they have failed. It may be recalled that very few cases ended in conviction and more than in 50 percent cases police are even failed to file charge sheets. The one of the visions of our founding father is independent judiciary, but today it has no time to hear peitions aginst CAA, abrogation of article 370 etc, and it has become a party to encroach the liberty of citizen when sedition law is misused.
