Mangalore: Engraved Silver Plates Stolen from Mullakad Temple

Mangalore, Jul 2: In yet another incident of theft from divine places, the engraved silver plates covering the door of Koteda Babbu Swamy temple at Mullakad here was stolen possibly during the midnight on Thursday July 1.
The incident came to light when the temple priests arrived early morning on Friday July 2 to offer puja. The entrance key had been broken. Along with the silver plating two gold chains and cash from the donation box were also stolen.
The silver lining from the wooden part of the door was pretty hard to tear off. But the culprit had tried stealing it as it is half removed.
The temple authorities have said that the silver plating was worth over Rs 2 lac. The Kavoor police officials are investigating the matter and are on a look out for the culprit.
