KARWAR, Jul 9 (The Hindu): Abdul Samad Mohammed Zarrer Sidibapa returned to his home town of Bhatkal on Thursday after he was released on bail by a Mumbai court.

Samad was arrested by the Maharashtra Anti-Terrorism Squad, on his return to Mangalore, on the charge of supplying arms.

It was said that he was arrested for alleged involvement in the blast in Pune's German Bakery, but the police denied it.

Samad and his family members refused to speak to the media, saying he was released on bail, so he could not make any comment.

Later speaking to journalists, Samad refused to answer questions relating to his arrest and release. He thanked the people of Bhatkal and the media for their support to him when he was in crisis.

Samad's family members objected to the tagging by the media of ‘Bhatkal' with the names of terror suspects, saying this would create a wrong impression about the citizens of Bhatkal, irrespective of their religion.

Samad's uncle Mohammad Ali said Yasin Bhatkal, an alleged terrorist involved in many blasts, was not the brother of Samad. He had a brother named Mohammad Ahmad, who is not in touch with the family after a dispute. His whereabouts were not known.

Samad is only the tip of the iceberg doen't desrve much attention at this point of time. go to the chhattisgarh. hundreds of CRPF men are getting killed in fierce gunbattles without being noticed at all. one sided coverage makes little sense. with the same sincerety & sympathy we must also think on other problems.

Dear Soman,Satish,Hariprasad Hegde and Shail, please read the newspapers daily and keep yourself d what is happenning around you. Abdul Samad was arrested in connction with his alleged involvement in illegal supply of arms case and not Pune Blast case. SIT was not able to substantiate its allegation and hence he was released by the court, no doubt on bail. The SIT Mumbai has so far not filed any charge sheet against him. Quite natural the family members and people close to him celebrate not because he was relesed on bail but the SIT has failed to make out a case against him. He was certainly framed by the police. Therefore while expressing any comments please refrain from adding political colour to it.

It has been repeatedly said, "All terrorists are muslims...."

Let us take stock of the ground reality around the world.  The IRA in the United Kingdom, The ETTA in Spain, The Naxals in India, the LTTE in Srilanka, the Sandinistas in Nicaragua, the Mafia in Italy, the drug Lords in South America. None of them are muslims.

Sathish.. What real fact you want to know?. All media, politicians and police are behind in framing innocents muslims as terrorist and targetting them now and then. Media without knowing the truth will publish about him and also associate with his religion giving bad name to the religion. If any blast took place, So many innocent Muslims are taken in jail without any charge. This sort of news should come forward for the people to know the truth about muslims about their innocence.
