Bangalore : BJP in Soul Searching Mode

Bangalore, Jul 10 (DHNS): In the aftermath of the ruckus in the Legislature that took the State politics to a new low, Chief Minister Yeddyurappa, his cabinet colleagues and the BJP leaders, on Friday, closeted in a private resort on the outskirts of Bangalore to explore ways of improving their performance.

The Chief Minister and BJP State President K S Eshwarappa reviewed two years’ performance of each minister, discussed about their plans for the next three years and ways for the effective implementation of the budgetary programmes. A detailed review of Housing, Labour and Revenue departments was also done during the meeting, sources said.

Except for Tourism Minister Janardhana Reddy, Health Minister Sriramulu and Science and Technology Minister Anand Asnotikar, all ministers attended. The three ministers had taken the permission to keep off the meeting, which is a follow up of Suraj Sankalp workshop that the BJP national party had organised to the Chief Ministers of all the party ruled States in Mumbai recently.

Team of experts

The two leaders asked the ministers to set up a team of experts to guide them in improving the performance. “If necessary, the party will help ministers in forming the teams. Experts may be former bureaucrats and academicians. They can contribute immensely in providing better administration. Now development is being done haphazardly. We want to it to happen in an organised manner,” Eshwarappa told reporters after the meeting.

Besides improving the administration, the aim of the meeting was to strengthen the party. All ministers have been directed to hold party meetings at their respective districts on second Saturday of every month, Eshwarappa said.

Asked which are the departments that have not performed up to the mark, he said the meeting was not called to assess the performance and give any grades. “Neither we (CM and Eshwarappa) are teachers nor they (ministers) are students. Nobody is perfect and there will be scope for everybody to improve,” he stated.

He also denied that exercise is aimed at the cabinet reshuffle, likely after the ongoing Legislature session.

If Nagesh Nayak had his way, there would be ethnic cleansing in this country. Rightly said, he is at par with the Nazis. People like him have a narrow point of view. He is no different from the Naxals, Nazis, Jehadis, Talibanis, and other terrorists.

Yet again, Nagesh Nayak tries to protect the ill character of the BJP by showing the wrongs of others. I think in an earlier article, some readers did comment on the fact that two wrongs never make a right. Yet shamelessly, Mr Manners-less Nagesh Nayak seems to show that his brains are pickled in Nazi ideology. What about the RSS shielding HINDU TERRORISTS like that of the Ajmer Blast, Malegaon, and Mecca Masjid? Not to mention BJP's indifference to the Church attacks in Mangalore. Rightly said, that people like Nagesh Nayak are a blot and shame to the peaceful and silent Hindu society. Ever heard of the saying " Empty vessels make the loudest noises"? It applies well to you Nagesh. Grow up, and mature your frame of thinking. You have so much hate in your system. I feel sorry for you.

Karnataka BJP's soul is lost in Bellary mud. At the moment it looks unlikely if they will be able to recover it and initiate the cleansing process.

Unless this is done they will be doomed in the next elections. Yedyurappa, you be aware that people's power is stronger than Bellary money power.

It is most stupid to fight on party lines. I am now 50 and I have been monitoring the political drama right from 1975. My dear friends all political parties are same. Please don't ever think that one party is better that the other. So also are the politicians.

The power is the ultimate motto of each party and politician and not performance or service.

I do not agree with the concluding views of Ismail K. Perinje that if the present government does not improve its performance, it will be defeated at the hustings. Even if, during the next three years of BJP rule in Karnataka, the governance be dismal and corruption reaches further heights, the same BJP will be voted to power. They have sufficiently divided the people along communal lines and people will blindly vote for them. The VHP, Bajrang Dal, Rama Sene and such outfits have been given full freedom to achieve that end. Who cares about the real welfare of the people?
It is rightly said, we get the government we deserve.
