Recommend Prez Rule in Karnataka: Gowda to Governor

Bangalore, July 10 (PTI): Slamming the Karnataka government for 'unparliamentary' conduct in the legislative assembly, JDS leader H D Devegowda on Saturday suggested that Governor H R Bhardwaj recommend President's rule in the state.

Speaking to reporters here, he said "The vulgar and uncivilised language used by Tourism Minister G Janardhana Reddy against Opposition Congress after Chief Minister B S Yeddyurappa replied to the illegal mining issue showed the total breakdown of law and order machinery in the state.

"The governor, who is bold, mature and a man of high integrity with 40 years experience of public life, should know and recommend imposition of Article 356." Flaying Yeddyurappa for remaining silent when Reddy intervened after his speech, Gowda said the chief minister should have warned him not to overstep his limits and use such language. "By not doing so, Yeddyurappa has failed to command the respect of the house and shown he is weak," he said.

Blaming Yeddyurappa for the "behaviour of MLAs loyal to Bellary ministers", he charged him with giving full support to the Reddy brothers, despite knowing their "illegal activities" as deputy chief minister during the JDS-BJP coalition rule. He said Yeddyurappa should dismiss such ministers.

Gowda also criticised the UPA government for "closing its eyes over rampant looting of mineral resources in the state". He alleged that iron ore was being sent to Andhra Pradesh and Tamil Nadu despite a high court directive to stop export of the mineral from Belekeri, Karwar and Mangalore ports, "Nobody can stop it".

Gowda termed as a drama the BJP government's efforts to make Karnataka Lokayukta Santosh Hegde withdraw his resignation and said grant of suo moto powers to him would not be of much use as he himself had admitted it.

JDS state unit president H D Kumaraswamy said he would write to both AICC chief Sonia Gandhi and BJP leader Sushma Swaraj on illegal mining in Bellary. He said he would make a formal announcement on the "Save Bellary Campaign" which they planned to undertake with leaders from all walks of life, including the Opposition Congress, writers and intellectuals at a function here to felicitate former deputy chief minister M P Prakash.

Kannadiga's are not fools to believe or lend their ear to De.. Gowda. Iron ore mafia was groomed and flourished during the Congress & JDS ruled. At that time BJP was not a major political party in the state. Reddy's are only part of larger Mine Mafia. Taking action against only one section of Mine mafia is not enough. The political leaders who were responsible for creating these smugglers must also be punished. Unfortunately any move in that direction will be opposed unanimously by ruling and opposition party tugs.

Every now and then the opposition waiting for the opportunity to topple the Government find faults and straight away recommend for President’s Rule.

Can’t imagine one time Prime Minister of India can say this?

We need a constructive opposition which will see the development of State.

If some untoward incident occurs you got other ways to solve the problem.

We are already facing lot of problems, losses. If we are marching towards progress we need a fair play.

The politicians lacking mutual understanding as a result we can never think any progress. Selfish Politicians.

As veteran leader of the state he has got right to express his views. No one can stop it.But ultimately the people hove to decide.I wish there should be healthy opposition in the state. But unfortunately the present politicians of our country are corrupt, selfish and dishonest in nature(both ruling and in opposition)

    Mr.Gowda Sir,
Before accusing someone else, please check your personal file. And clear all dues owed to the Govt and to the tax paying citizen of Bellary and the country. Aren't you still owe some lakhs of rupees to the IAF waiting for court order to pay. Why don't you use that money and spend it on the welfare of struggling farmers at flooded areas and the farmers who are not able pay the HIGH INTEREST loans to the Central Govt. The current govt is doing well compared to yours.

Remember those days you did not want to form the Govt with BJP eventhough they helped you to rule the state for two and half years. I wonder how many crores you looted. Please be Honest sir, it will pay off in the long run. But your run is OVER sir. Kindly please think about retirement. In my opinion, I don't think you have energy to go on anymore. Press is watching you sleeping on the Meeting, and gatherings. It is not a good sign. Please let your members know, do not create any drama at the General Assembley at the tax payers expense.

Let the elected representatives address the real issues the citizens of Karnataka are facing Today, so we can move ahead instead of pointing fingers and accusing others. Next time please take your seat and sit down. Thanks. Next Please.

Please Mr. Devegowda.....atleast now stop your dirty games. All your games over, we were proud of you being ex-prime minister of india, but now we are ashamed the you are behaving from past 2years. This doesnt look nice for any person who was our country's prime minister. Why are you people talking now, let BJP government complete 5 five years. When election comes then you put your grievences before the voter. And let them decide who is right and who is wrong. Mind you all are elected by us and nobody has the right to tell anybody to through the elected government in democracy. Then why are you people silent about Andhra Pradesh, Delhi, Orissa, UP etc... You are all experienced politicians, Mr. Gowda also used very bad word against Mr. Yediyurappa, i think he should not talk about dicipline whether inside or outside Assembly. Mr. Devegowda has very bad record of behavour inside Assembly.

Why President's Rule, what's wrong with the present? Being a former PM of India just relax and think before you act. I have a great respect to you and the 6 crore Kannadigas respect you as well. But give a proper statement which delivers best to all and it should not be a loss to the state.
Why didn't you raise the voice inspite of knowing everything? Now just trying to tackle the BJP Govt. What next?

Ha Ha Ha. Joke of the day. Mr. Gowda blaming someone about using foul language? Mr. Gowdaji , whole world knows about the language you and your sons use all the time. You are famous for using bad languages. You should be given "Bharat Ratna" for mastering in bad languages. BJP doesn't need your "upadeshavani". First try to fix your broken JDS and languages. Your son Kumaranna should take care of baby (Junior Radhika) sitting. Since you are un-employed now what can we expect from you people! Eat some Ragi balls and sleep over the weekend!

Devegowda! Have you settled the dues to the airforce? If not, first do it and then open your ugly mouth. You don't have any moral rights to critcize others while you are having lot of corruption with you and your sons. What made Kumaraswamy to write letters to AICC president Sonia Gandhi and BJP president Sushma Swaraj? Is he a child to write such letters thinking that they are dumbs? To whom you dirty duo are fooling? Now the voters are very smart and they will throw you people to Arabian Sea.

Shri Deve Gowda deserves an oscar for the being the most hypocritical politician in India. Forgetting his having adorned the high office of Prime Minister, albeit by default, which demands some dignity in all those who have occupied that prestigious position he has shown the most boorish and crude behaviour ever. People of the state have not forgotten his most intemperate language used against his political opponents and the gangster like behaviour of his children and supporters. He is now teaching other people dignity!!!!!
