Udupi, Jul 22: Sri Laxmivarateertha Swamiji of Shiroor Mutt performed Taptamudradharane religious rituals at Krishna Mutt as part of Shayani Ekadashi here on Thursday July 22.

Swamiji heated the dyes of metal, Conch and wheel in the Vedic furnace and cast the same on his shoulders, chest and stomach. Mudradharane was held at dining hall of the mutt from 9.00 am. Hundreds of devotees also underwent mudradharane from Swami Laxmivarateerta on the occasion. Students too participated with joy.

The significant Vedic ritual being held annually, as the strong belief prevails in Tulunadu that by performing such rituals one can keep the monsoon-borne diseases away.

Meanwhile, the same Vedic ritualwas also held in other Mutts, Krishnapur, Sonde, Shiroor, Kaniyoor and Raghavendra, which follow Aryabhata calendar.

Mutts – Puttige, Pejavar, Palimar and Adamar in the coastal district follow Vraganita calendar and accordingly Tapdtamudradharane religious ritual was held on Wednesday July 21.

    You can say, Good and important hindu event.

    But dont force your will on ohters, by saying All Hindus must follow this.

    Even Sri Laxmivarateertha Swamiji of Shiroor Mutt who performed Taptamudradharane , did not force Hindus to follow this.

    The good thng is, all those who participated, did it, without force and out of own free will

    The once in a year event, held in all Muts in udupi and in Ragavendra mut in Nellikai road mangalore, chitrapura temple and pavanje temple yesterday, done in order to attain mukthi and reach near to GOD.
