Mangalore: Entrepreneur from US Visits AIMIT, St Aloysius College

Press Release

Mangalore, Jul 23: Jathin  Ullal, an alumnus of St Aloysius College and electrical consultant, Smart & Energy Efficient Buildings & Infrastructure, Silicon Valley of America, San Jose, visited AIMIT, the new campus for management and information technology of St Aloysius College on Thursday July 21.

Ullal, who brings 30 years of global electrical, mechanical and communication engineering, entrepreneurial and management experience spoke to the IT students of MCA, MS (software technology) on entrepreneurship.

In his presentation on the opportunities available to the present generation of students, he said that dedication, drive and commitment are very important to succeed as entrepreneurs. He stressed the need for evolving a sound business plan and work towards funding from banks, angel funding and venture capital.

Any bright idea will surely get support and enough funding but failure too has to be accepted in any enterprise, he cautioned. What is important is that one learns from his/her mistake and goes ahead with the plans or modifies the plans to suit the conditions. He also stressed the need for entrepreneurial education which provides strategies, knowledge and skills, and motivates to energize entrepreneurial success. Quoting many examples of success, he enthused the students gathered to dream big dreams and wished that at least some of them would turn out to be entrepreneurs.

Fr Denzil Lobo, director, AIMIT welcomed the gathering and introduced Ullal to the student community. He also expressed his desire to see some of the students become entrepreneurs. He said, “When you become an entrepreneur you create jobs and thus become creators of wealth.” He also mentioned the achievement of five members of the second batch of MBA students of the college who started a company named FORADIANS through which they came to limelight by making available the rupee symbol for online download.

Thank you, Mr. Jathin Ullal, for your gracious visit to AIMIT (my 4th home) and sharing your viewpoints to the student congregation at Beeri. Many of the St.Aloysius students, we are confident, will turn out to be successful Entrepreneurs in various fields of their respective disciplines.

Our important appeal for each of them is that they need to be effective communicators in order to be successful Entreprenurs. They have to begin their journey of communication thru various interactioons while they are at school, and reach out many willing Entrepreneurs outside India who will be more than happy to provide them so many guidelines in order to follow the pathway of progress.

The bright and enterprising Youth of India can be a best ingredient of "Export" from India to many parts of the world that either lack in young population or lack in intellectual young generation. Intellectual and willing Indians going abroad will not be a "brain drain" for India but will be a "brain expansion" so long as they remain loyally attached to mother India. We have a great hope that AIMIT will produce some of the best leaders of tomorrow.
