Mangalore: Bharath Rao Bags Prestigious Rashtrapati Scout Award

Mangalore, Jul 24: B Bharath Rao, a student of St Aloysius High School, was presented with the prestigious Rashtrapati Scout Award at the Rashtrapathi Bhawan, New Delhi recently.

Bharath, currently a student of first year pre-university (PU) at St Aloysius PU College, was the troop leader of his school. He has participated in the Republic Day, Independence Day and Karnataka Rajyotsava parade at Nehru Maiden here on ten occasions and has even led the scout contingent in the Independence Day march past to salute the district in-charge minister.

He has also attended the national Mini Jamboree at Ahmedabad in Gujarat University Ground and participated in the march past as member of the Karnataka Contingent.

Apart from scouting activities, Bharath also has the distinction of designing the website for the Dakshina Kannada Scouts and Guides and writing a software in Visual Basic titled “Knowledge Bank Management Suite” which is being extensively used in libraries for library management in St Aloysius High School, St Aloysius B Ed College and other Aloysian Institutions.
