M’lore: Radio Sarang Holds Programme on ‘Communication Skills’ at Govt Ladies PU College

Mangalore, July 24: Community Radio Sarang 107.8FM in association with the high school, department of Government Ladies Pre-university College organized an interactive programme for school students on the topic 'Communication Skills', in the college premises on Saturday July 24.

The programme began invoking almighty's blessings. The headmistress of the college, Vinoda welcomed the gathering.

Delivering the inaugural address, Fr Richard Rego educated students about the importance of radio as a medium of communication. He also explained the role of community radio in developing a society.

Rego added that the people of the community should take part actively in giving content to community radio stations, thereby helping in improving their communication skills.

School people leader of the school Swathi delivered the vote of thanks. The chief guest and the resource person for the day, Adoor Krishna Rao, trainee, Corporation Bank was also present on the dias.

Adoor, who interacted with the students, shared tips on how to develop communication skills. He spoke about the top traits a person should possess in order to effectively communicate with people in the society, the prominent ones being maintaining steady eye contact and speaking to the point, without exaggerating or going too deep into matters unless it is very essential.

About 200 students took part in the session. The programme concluded with a question-answer and feedback session.
