Mangalore, Jul 25: Various police teams working under the directives of the city commissionerate have managed to crack the temple burglaries haunting the district with the arrest of four thieves.

Addressing media persons on Sunday July 25, police commissioner Seemanth Kumar Singh said that the temple burglary cases that had taken place under police station limits of Sakleshpur (4 cases), Bhatkal (2), Bantwal (2), Uppinangady (1), Beltangady (1), Suratkal (1) and Bajpe (1) have been solved with the arrest of Seetaram Shetty (49) of Vittal, Ravi (21) of Chikmagalur district, and Anand Poojary (20) and Gopal (22) of Hassan district. He said that Shetty was the kingpin and mastermind of all these burglary cases. A sum of Rs 1 lac has been recovered from him. He was also arrested earlier in a temple theft case.









A team led by Valentine D’Souza, CPI Panambur and comprising Gopal Kotapady PSI (Crime), Anantha Padmanabha PSI(L and O) Kavoor P S, Vijayaraj Kavoor PS HC, Rajesh Alva, Isak, Mohith, Jeevan, Kiran, Chandrahasa, Ravichandra, Ravikumar, Jagadish undertook the nabbing operations.

Another Burglar Held

In another case, Uday Kumar Rai (24) of NMPT Colony, Panambur, was arrested for burglary and theft in areas coming under Mangalore East, Barke and in Bajpe police stations.

Six Nokia cell phones, one Sony Ericsson phone, three China mobiles and a total amount of Rs 30,000 have been recovered. A team lead by Muttu Raaya, deputy police commissioner, Girish S, assistant deputy commissioner of Panambur sub-division, Valentine D’Souza, CPI Panambur, Keerthi Kumar, sub-inspector, Panambur, Nagesh Uchchil, Krishna, Damodar and Vinay Kuamr PC were involved in the operation.

The commissioner announced reward for the teams that nabbed the thieves.

    Why these small thieves are shown without mask, where as noted criminals are always photographed with a mask hiding the identity ? I would congratulate the police force the day they catch top dacoits of Karnataka who loot the state resources in billions & roam free eventhough the court issue non-bailable warrants repeatedly !! Why can't the police arrest such law breakers and teach them the law ?? Is it because our CM is afraid of them ?

    my dear police, 1st try to catch Nityananda swamy, he is big criminal, catch reddy brothers, they are the black mark for our country. and specially u know why they did this job, beacause there is no job for educated all govt. job for backward community. first u create job.

    I think it is premature to publish their photos. If one of them is proved to be innocent, can you imagine the damage that has been done to him and his family. It is only when it is conclusively proved in the court of law that they are the burglars their photos could have been published.

    Good job by the police. Congratulations to the police team. In this world in general always service is without thanks.
    Looking at the young boys photograph one should ask question is our society one side breed robbers. We being part of the society also have equal responsibility to eradicate this contaminated habit of robbery. But ... unfortunately majority of our leaders are official robbers with suit and this gang of robbers are police registered robbers.
    Have our leaders become the good model, then most of these type of shameful act will not arise. This act of robbers by the gang shows every robber has no boundary when it comes looting or wrong act, irrespective of their religious belief.
    We require our leaders to become better model.

    What a tremendous achivement of our police force. Ana a proud moment for the nine proud policemen to be phtographed in front of the deadly thives.

    Though they are not able to stop illegal exports of mines amounting to millions of rupees, yet it did not deter them from catching the culprits of china mobile phones, and Rs 30,000/- That should be the spirit, never give up, though they cannont catch the big fish, sure they can net smaller ones.
