Bangalore: State Tightens Noose on Ore Export - To Ban Issue of Permits for Transport

Daijiworld Media Network - Bangalore (SB)

Bangalore, Jul 28: A day after ordering closure of ports in the state with the exception of Mangalore to prevent illegal export of iron ore, the government on Tuesday uly 27 announced banning of issue of permits to transport the mineral for exports.

Addressing reporters, Chief Minister B S Yeddyurappa said that an order banning issue of permits to transport iron ore for exports will be issued on Wednesday July 28. However, firms engaged in mining are free to supply the material to steel plants and factories in the state, he said.

With this move, the government plans to stop iron ore from moving out of the country and can be used as value addition. Further, with the move it is possible that the ore will not be exported from neighbouring places such as Goa, Chennai, Visakapatnam and Krishnapatnam among others.

Claiming that most States had supported his view for a ban on iron ore exports at the recent NDC meeting, Yeddyurappa said Prime Minister Manmohan Singh may soon hold a meeting of chief ministers concerned to discuss the issue. Further, the issue has been discussed with BJP president Nitin Gadkari and senior party leaders including L K Advani, he said.

    MR.ABDUL RAHMAN,
IF YOU WANT TO KNOW WHO ISSUED THE PERMITS,IT IS NONE OTHER THAN CONGRESS & JDS GOVERNMENTS.IF YOU WANT TO DISCUSS ABOUT ILLEGAL MINING,ALL THREE GOVERNMENTS OF CONGRESS,JDS & BJP ARE INVOLVED. EVERY SMALL ISSUE LIKE CHOOSING DISTRICT PRESIDENT IS REFERRED TO SONIA GANDHI IN CONGRESS PARTY.IS SHE THE PROPRIETOR OF INDIA?THERE IS NOTHING WRONG IF MINING ISSUE IS DISCUSSED WITH GADKARI OR ADVANI.

By banning exports Yedyurappa has accepted that he is not able to stop illegal mining. This is the foolish move as he do not understand the economics.

People are not against legal mining and exports as this is required for our economy. What we want is to stop illegal Mining (which Yedyurappa seems to be incapable) and punish the culprits who have alreaddy minted thousands of crores of rupees by illegal mining.

Banning of exports do not serve any purpose in stopping illegal mining or in finding culprits of illegal mining. This is another attempt by yedyuappa to mislead people.

Permits banned/ ports closed to curb exports out of the country/state..

    So what do you do..

Ore Imports into the state is also curbed.. thereby pressurize the state manufactures to buy ore from the illegal mines at a premium!!!

One way or the other, the result remains the same.. State resources are stolen in broad daylight and illegal Miners continue making the moolaahh..

Jokers like Nagesh may find these eyewash decisions beneficial, not the educated people of Karnataka..

Jai Ho Bhrastachaar Joota Party, keep on looting jokers..

Now that Yeddy has taken some action does the Congress has the spine to do the same? The Reddy brothers have mining company called Obalapuram mining company in partnership with Jagan Reddy and ore exports also happen through ports in Andhra. Will the Congress government in AP take action by banning export from the ports.

Good move by Mr. Yediyurappa. Still central congress govt. sleeping. Why they cannot ban ore exports. They are good in banning poor farmer crops like onions etc. so a farmer will not make any money in his lifetime.

    Two things:
    1. To ban issue of new permits : What about permits already issued ? Reddy brothers safe there.
    2. Why Karnataka issue has been discussed with Gadkari & Advani ? Are they owners of Karnataka ?
Yeddi you are great and you are safe.As long as you have support of brainless people like some here, you don't have to worry at all. Go ahead, Karnataka a grazing field for you people.

hats off to SHRIMAN YEDIYURAPPAJI for banning the exports of ores.

    all PSUEDOS now keep quiet.

Shrimaan Yediyurappaji is honest & sincere to our motherland.

Shri Yediyuarappaji is courageous & took decision on safegaurding our natural wealth.

Can psuedos reply for this who are boasting abot their leader:

YOUR PM IS HONEST & SINCERE TO ITALIAN MADAMME.

IF HE IS SINCERE & HONEST LET HIM TAKE ACTION AGAINST RAJA OF SPECTRUM SCAM. IF HE TAKES ACTION YOUR PM WILL LOSE HIS SEAT.

IF YOUR PM IS SINCERE & HONEST LET HIM TAKE ACTION AGAINST NCP LEADERS WHO ARE MORE INDULGED IN THEIR PRIVATE BUSINESS.

WHY YOUR SINCERE & HONEST PM WITHDREW CBI CASES AGAINST LALU, MULAYAM, MAYA WATI & OTHERS FOR THE SAKE OF PM GADDI.

IF HE IS SINCERE & HONEST HE WOULD HAVE REDUCED THE PRICES OF PETROLEUM PRODUCTS.

HE WOULD HAVE ORDERED FOR CBI ENQUIRY FOR 33% WASTAGE OF FOOD GRAINS IN CWC.

HE WOULD HAVE TOLD BHARDWAJ NOT TO INTERFERE IN GOVERNMENT'S DAY TO DAY ACTIVITIES PLUS NOT TO USE GOVERNOR HOUSE AS CONGRESS OFFICE.

IF YOUR PM IS HONEST LET HIM BRING & PUNISH DEVIL WARREN ANDERSON WHO KILLED 20000 PEOPLE .

LET HIM PUT BEHIND THE BAR TO THOSE WHO MASSACRED 3000 PLUS SIKHS.

YOUR PM IS INTERESTED ONLY IN DESTABILISING BJP GOVERNMENT.

DO NOT COMMENT LIKE A PSUEDO.

    JAI HO BJP.

Reason TWO - Cong's Padayathra working BJP's damage control is on course. We can expect more actions from Govt when Cong Yathra reachs Bellary.

Yet these actions are not affective for illeagal mining. The issue here is looting of the mines. What tangible actions are taken against those who are involved??Export Ban not stands in the court of law unless the policy itself has changed.Permit for exports are stopped ok but can be moved to proposed Steel Factory BRAHAMINI of Reddygars !!!!?? We need illeagal mining must stopped and those looted the mines should brought to the rule of land.
