Mangalore: Goods Train Derails at Pandeshwar - Three Coaches Go off the Track Pics by Dayananda KukkajeDaijiworld Media Network - MangaloreMangalore, Jul 28: Three coaches of a cement-laden goods train snapped off and went off the track near Pandeshwar bridge here on Wednesday July 28 at around 5.30 am.
The goods train was on its way to the port at Panambur from Tamil Nadu. As an impact of the derailment, the track has been damaged at the spot. One of the coaches went off the track on the bridge severely damaging the part of track on the bridge.
Railway police inspected the spot of the accident.
It is high time the authorities looked into this.we have two dangerous level crossings here!!! its been two decades that this place has been spewing danger and now the apathy has increased to the core.
Dear Fellow Denizens! it has been time and again highlighted that this track to old Good Shed to Bundar is now obsolete. It only serves some vested interests and helps pollute the Bolar/Hoige Bazar areas. It needs to be scrapped and spare the residents all the disturbance it causes. mainly it passes through two major roads going to Mangaladevi and often is a damper to traffic during vital hours of the day. Let the administration and railways recognise and own up the truth and scrapp this rail track. Panambur,and other Konkan rail yards are now more than adequette to handle cement. This is an urgent matter.Thanks!
