Ajman: Thumbay Moideen Masjid Inaugurated

Media Release

Ajman, Jul 29: Thumbay Moideen Masjid, built by the Thumbay Group, was inaugurated at the Gulf Medical University campus here on Wednesday July 28.

Thumbay Moideen, the dynamic founder president of Gulf Medical University and GMC Hospitals based in Ajman, UAE, inaugurated the mosque at the auspicious worship time of 8.42 pm, in the presence of the University staff, the teaching faculty and the general public.

In his welcome address, Moideen said, “It’s not a mosque – it’s a symbol.  It’s more than just a building, it’s a place that holds a community together”.

Inaugural prayers and religious discourses on the importance of Islam were conducted by the AWKAF on the occasion.

The mosque has a capacity to accomodate upto 400 worshippers at a time, and has separate entrances for men and women. There will be regular Juma prayers on Friday followed by khutba in English.

It is a beautiful place of worship.

    The equality in worship
(all are sitting on the floor,
    both the master and servant)
in the Mosque must be a learning
    lesson for others to follow.
God is the greatest and we the
    human beings, whether rich or
    poor educated or illiterate are
    all equal before the Creator,
especially at the time of worshipping God.

"For if there should come into your assembly a man with gold rings, in fine apparel, and there
should also come in a poor man in
filthy clothes, And you pay attention to the one wearing the fine clothes and say to him, "You
sit here in a good place, " and
say to the poor man " You stand
there, " or, "Sit here at my footstool, " Have you not shown
    partiality among yourselves, and
    became judges with evil thoughts?
    James 2:2-4. (Bible)

    That spiritual truth is displayed
in your worship, which I admire
    the most.

All the best wishes and God's
    blessings. God's peace be with
    you all.

    Dear Haneef
Please read my comments, I asked anyone with knowledge to answer my question, and brother Aboobaker, gave me the correct information, with the necessary knowledge to do so.
Your comment says,Its (Thumbay Moideen Masjid ) symbol of Islam RELIGION.IT s holy place for the believers.

In my quest for understanding the correct Islamic beliefs, I have come to understand from persons having good Islamic knowledge, that apart from the 3 mosques (mentioned by Aboobaker) rest all the mosques are not considered as holy, they are called places of worship.

Please check about this and comment me back to say if my understanding is right or wrong. If Iam wrong I will surely apoliogise for it. Thank you

    Dear Haneef,
While thanking you, for your explanation, I wish to inform you, that I am fully aware of everything of what you have said.

If I was not, I would not have dared to clarify my doubts.

My quesion was "is this Mosque" any different from the rest of the mosques, or is it special like the 3 holy Mosques.

If you read Mr.Moideen words correctly, he was referring to this Mosque in his address and not talking about the Mosques in general, like the explanation you have given.

Dear Felix, the statement is bit difficult to understand, but for sure it is mosque and its a place of worship. May be he meant its a symbol of his hardwork and success in UAE.

Thank you, brother Aboobaker, for your frank answer. I too was thinking in your terms, apart from the 3 holy mosques, rest all are the same, so was confused, as to how this mosque can be different from the others, though architecturally it may be different.

I also commend you for mentioning
IN FACT ISLAM IS RECOMMENDING FOR VERY SIMPLE MOSQUES SPENDING THE MONEY ONLY FOR THE CONVENIENCES OF THE WORSHIPPERS.

However much I tried, I could not understand the meaning of the below words said by Moideen.

    1. Its not a Mosque but a Symbol
    2. It’s more than just a building,
    3. it’s a place that holds a community together .

I would like to know, from anyone with knowledge, apart from the architecture, what makes this,
A symbol & not A Mosque and in what way a another Mosque is different (Spiritually & not architecturally) from this structure which is more than just a building. Thank you
