Daijiworld Media Network – Mangalore (SB)

Mangalore, Jul 30: The ore export from the New Mangalore Port here has been temporarily stopped. The government on Monday July 26 had banned exports from all the ten ports in the state with the exception of the port here to prevent illegal export of iron ore.

The decision by the port comes in the wake of letter received by the department of commerce and industry of the state, said chief traffic controller Gopalakrishna. The export of ore has been stopped since Tuesday July 27 and we do not know how long the situation will continue, he said and added that the letter states the port to co-operate with the state until the probe on illegal mining is complete.

Further, the government on Tuesday July 27 had also announced banning of issue of permits to transport the mineral for exports, which has met with the opposition from many miners in the state.

Surprisingly BJP is slowly distancing from Reddy Brothers which is a good sign. There is need to corner these goons as they are looting this state royally.

May be BJP Highcommand must have instructed state BJP.

    Sudhir Kundapur/USA,

You are raising this question several times.I don't know what is your intention -is misguiding readers or me.Well, cong never propagated ban on legal mining any where in India. They are taking this PADAYATHRA for different issues and certainly one main issue is MINES LOOTING BY GOVT(REDDY BROTHERS AND THEN WE CAN SAY MLA's OF OPPOSITION PARTIES?)
FYI AP has already ordered for CBI enquiry and the process is on.What in Karnataka state also including Redddy garus themselves, opposition parties demanding for CBI enqueriy. Then certain doubt arises why CM not agreeing for CBI enquiry??????????

Exim policy is policy matter of central govt. The illeagal mining are at present limited to Karnataka and AP only. When CM apprised central Govt regarding the current boiling subject(illegal Mining) and need for a ban of mines export Central Govt cosntituted a comittee. Finally we are concerned about Karnataka and our scope of debate is ILLEAGAL MINING/EXPORT IN KARNATAKA.

Fantastic decision by our Honorable Chief Minister MrYeddurappa. This is not a conflict between BJP and Congress but between Karnataka and Andhra. Why are these guys exploiting Karnataka’s resources? Reddy’s belong to Andhra. Let them go and plunder in Andhra – why Karnataka? We also have information they are manipulating our borders with Andhra for their own selfish interest. I hope you will do the needful.

In that case, Reddy's must show the opponents who owns 90% mines. Why they are kept quiet? Or CM must announce the list. Here the issue is not the illegal mines, the issue is dirty politics by all parties. Every politician trying to prove that he is a politician. And in result we get all these scandals.

    FYI Ismail,

"According to sources in the Congress, more than 90 per cent of the mine owners belong to the Congress and this move would hurt them the most. Several of them are planning to take legal route and contemplating challenging the decision as and when it comes into effect." source dailypioneer, ndtv CNN-IBN

So if congress is serious then they should do Padayatra in AP where most of the Reddy brother mines are located head quartered in Ananthpur district.
