Reddys Plan to Stage Coup against Yeddy ?

Reddys Plan to stage Coup against Yeddy ?

Bangalore, Aug 1 (DHNS): The 10-month-old truce between Chief Minister B S Yeddyurappa and the Bellary brothers came to a pause on Saturday with the mining barons raising a banner of revolt.

As Yeddyurappa appeared to be making use of the heat generated over the illegal mining issue to end the Reddys’ dominance in the State government, the mining lords are reportedly gearing up for a do-or-die battle against the chief minister. Their grudge is also against the opposition Congress, which has taken out the Bangalore-Bellary padayatra.

According to sources, the Reddys are planning to stage a coup against Yeddyurappa, similar to the one they did some months ago. They are finalising plans to unite all anti-Yeddyurappa forces in the BJP. But it is not clear how they will muster the support of the party MLAs. “Like-minded” legislators led by Excise Minister M P Renukacharya, who supported the Reddys during their revolt in October 2009, have now switched sides.

To take on the Congress over its “padayatra,” the Bellary trio are reportedly planning to go the way of the Telangana Rashtra Samithi.

Their plan is to ask Bellary city MLA Somashekara Reddy to quit and face byelections. By this, the Reddys would prove that they enjoyed the confidence of the people of Bellary and consolidate their position in the party, sources said.

The plan may be a reason why Janardhana Reddy on Saturday dared Congress’s Siddaramaiah and D K Shivakumar to contest byelections from Bellary city. “If you have guts, face the bypoll. I will bow to the verdict of people,” he had stated.

According to sources, Reddys and all their supporting MLAs are ready to resign en masse and test their electoral luck.

Tourism Minister Janardhana Reddy, who arrived in Bangalore on Friday, is said to have held a detailed discussion with his advisers on the political developments in the State. Reddys were advised to maintain a low-profile for the  time being, till the Congress completed its padayatra, sources said.

Reddys are upset with Yeddyurappa for not defending them over the illegal mining issue. They could take it no more when the chief minister decided to ban iron ore export and stop issuing permits to transport ore for export, sources said.

Differences between Yeddyurappa and the Reddys came to the fore when the CM disapproved of the Bellary brother’s Swabhimani Samavesha to counter the Congress padayatra.

Reddy likely to meet Governor

Janardhana Reddy is likely to the meet the Governor H R Bharadwaj either on Monday or on Tuesday to clear all doubts about the illegal mining issue.

Reddy was likely to ask the Governor to take steps to change all the officials in Bellary district whom he suspected would suppress facts about illegal mining, sources said.

Congress people are very hungry for power. They are trying to pull down a democratically elected BJP govt. Congress party since independence have looted the country. Hence , they have no rights to criticise an elected BJP govt. of Karnataka which is moving in the right direction in banning all export of mineral ores from Karnataka.

Congress has a bad habbit of criticising every decision taken by the Karnataka BJP govt , just for the sake of criticising.

Mr. Yeddiyurappa is doing a good job. He should be allowed to complete a full term in his CM's position

Exactly said by louis. Jaya parakash hegde ji made lot of develeopemental work in his bhramavar region. Only a few like him can be seen all over karnataka. People like Sadananda Gowda, Nalin Kumar Katil are all waste. They are wasting their time in panchayat level politics instead of going to Delhi. Shobakka was a un corrupted minister. But reddys kicked out. There were so many MLA from coastal districts who didn't help shobakka because they too bow their head infront of Reddy power.

Reddys demolished proofs of borders at Karnataka Andhra border, to prove that they are not operating in Karnataka,(not abad idea) But the lines are still visible on Shri Ramalu’s bald head on rear side. CBI and Lokayuktha must have a look into shriramalus before he grow hair on his head. Now to hide this proof, Reddy’s may cutoff the head of Shriramalu who is their brand ambassador for Bellary Mines. I am not joking.

    Dear Mr. RICHARD MORAS, BAHRAIN.

I am not a supporter of any party. I am of the opinion that all people involved in illegal mining have to be punished irrespective of any party.

Some report suggests that most of the permits are possesed by Congress people and I do not rule out some of the them doing illegal mining. In case of Reddys, they do not have permit to do mining in Karnataka but they are doing illegal mining in a very large area in the forests of our state and for this they have redrawn borders between Andhra and Karnataka(by demolishing proofs of border). This has caused loss of thousands of crores of rupees to Karnataka. These people are in government and are misusing their position to do the illegal mining.

Don'you think these people should be put behind bars along with others who are into illegal mining(including congress people if they are into illegal mining)? Congress Padayatra may have political ambitions of congress but if it helps in presurising the government to bring the culprits to book, is there any harm?

I am not against legal mining and exports. This is required for our economy

Congress must not try to pull down democratically elected BJP govt. Let them rule for 5yrs, they too will fall like Vajpayees central govt. in the past. I feel Yedurappa is a wise chief Minister. Opposition congress & JDS are not allowing him to run his term peacefully. All this drama is only to pull down his govt. Once that is done nobody will remember Bellary or any illegal mining. Sonia too forgot Bellary after her election from that constituency decade before. That doesn’t mean Sushma Swaraj is a Saint, she did not forgot Bellary because she lost her seat, else she too would have become like Sonia.

Yedurappa is angry on Reddy’s because they forced him keep Shobha karandajle out of the cabinet. I feel Shoba is a very wise & brilliant lady. She never revolt or spoke anything against Yedurappa or Reddy’s. Congress need to have such people around them. Congres need people like Jaya Prakash Hegde to lead congres in Karnataka. Present leaders are useless bunch of jokers.

  • DEMOCRACY MUST WIN, Bangalore

    Sun, Aug 01 2010

The Bellary Reddys have challenged to the Chair of Hon'ble Chief Minister, who is a head of a Democratic state. The Reddys do not have the political culture and vision. They think that money can win everybody and might is the right. They failed to realize that every person of this country has to follow the law of the land and the Constitution is above us. We have witnessed since 2 1/2 years, how the government is working over the issue of illegal mining and how the Reddys threatening the elected Government. No doubt there is illegal mining all over India and the Reddys doing the mining busiess at Andhra and also doing the mining business in fake names and doing the business of illegal mining. Therefore the CBI enquiry very much necessary, and which could open the issue of illegal mining in other states.

Whoever may be engaged in the illegal mining and causing the loss of wealth of this country must go behind the bars.

Otherwise, a mining worker (Madhu Khoda) could not be a chief minister of Jharkand who won as a Independent MLA. and we all know what happened thereafter.

Therefore, we must wake up right now and work for the winning of the Democracy. If not we have to see the rowdys, anti social eliments as leaders of this Country. AND THE CONSTITUTIONAL MACHINERY WOULD FAIL TO GIVE JUSTICE TO ALL SECTIONS OF THE SOCIETY AND THERE WOULD BE NO MEANING IN THE DEMOCRACY.

    REDDY BROTHERS NAILED

The Bellary soil is abused by Reddy and company and looted crores of wealth. Once the district was evergreen, now there is no greenery and areas are covered by full of dust. On en route to Bellary one can see houses, plants and everything is looking red. The kind of environmental hazards created by illegal mining in the district made rare species like sloth bear, birds, medicinal plants, etc., to disappear. They have disturbed the ecosystem and thereby peaceful enjoyment of inhabitants of that area. The Obalapuram mining company owned by these looters facilitated trespass of Andhra into Karnataka’s land and large area of Karnataka was being mined on lease given by Andhra government. Now the soil is bleeding with no chances of germinating seeds.
They have battered the roads by moving overloaded iron ore trucks. People travelling on Shriadi Ghat, have been experiencing difficulties with lot of potholes. Road leading to Mangalore, Belekeri and Goa ports are in pathetic condition. Nearly 5000 trucks carrying iron ore daily are creating nuisance to commuters and innumerable accidents.
By using their ill gotten money, they are daring powerful Lingayat Chief Minister in the state and proposing TRS model for the state. They are daring powerful Gowda with Rs.150 crore bribery allegation and challenging charismatic backward class leader Siddaramaiah to step in Bellary as if Bellary is their grandfather’s property.

Some of us are opined CONG PADAYATHRA IS A TIME WASTE EXERCISE? but it proved otherwise. With in couple of weeks the whole political sinarios are likely to polarise as cong v/s anti cong headed by BJP.There may be a "POLITICAL TSUNAMI" in karnataka in near future.

Reddy brothers really a threat to democracy. They don't know political language rather knows "might is right" language. Their actions, moves are not conducive to any political parties.

Yeddy's plan to corner and clipping of wings of Reddys are clearly evident by banning mines export and stopping of movement of mines. This made Reddy & gang to go for all round war against Yeddy. Taking head on collision with Reddy was bit of danger for Yeddy and indirectly Yeddy got the required support from cong in the way of Padayathra. Certainly an uncertain political weather offing in near future and we have to wait for the outcome. Therefore as my earlier assumption CONG PADAYATHRA WORKS.
