Udupi: Pitty Nagesh Case- Shettigar's Henchmen in Police Nest

Udupi, Aug 2: In connection with the murder attempt of Pitty Nagesh, Kukkikatte on July 20 the District Crime Intelligence Bureau (DCIB) police have arrested four persons.

The arrested are Guruprasad Shetty of Alevoor, Gururaj Poojary of Indrali, Mohammad Rajin, Kanchinadka and Pachu alias Prashant of Alake.

Pitty Nagesh and Vinod Shettigar, both rowdy –sheeters were rivals too. The foursome on information that police had collected evidences to nail Vinod Shettigar had planned to surrender to the court. Meanwhile, on a tip-off DCIB police arrested the four from Mangala Stadium before they could surrender.

The car driver Ershad, resident of Kanchinadka and the chief culprit Vinod Shettigar are absconding and the police are on look-out for them.

On the instructions of Superintendent of Police (SP) and Additional Superintendent of Police (ASP), DCIB inspector Ganesh Hegde, police personnel Narayan, Damodar, Sathish Ballal, Mahabala Shetty, Rathnakar, Dinesh Shetty, Udaya Kundar, Vaman, Manohar Udyavara and Abdul Khader are involved in the investigations.

It can be recalled here that on July 20, Pitti Nagesh was attacked by the miscreants who later had fled in a car. They had left the car near Yermal beach. The police have succeeded in arresting the culprits when they were on the verge of surrendering. Nagesh is undergoing treatment in Manipal hospital.
