Udupi: Inter-Collegiate Dance Contest ‘Nratyotsav–2010’ Begins

Udupi, Aug 3: ‘Nratyotsav–2010’, the Mangalore varsity inter-collegiate dance competition, was inaugurated at St Mary’s College, Shirva, near here, on Monday August 2.  It will conclude on Tuesday August 3.
 
Fr Valerian Mendonca, director, Mangalore-based Sandesha Foundation, inaugurated the event on Monday morning.
 
Fr Stany Tauro, correspondent, St Mary’s College and Don Bosco Education Institutions, presided over the programme.

Dr P A Rego, Mangalore University HOD of Economics, was the chief guest on the occasion. 
 
Dr J C Miranda, principal, St Mary’s College, Prof Vincent D’Souza, director, student welfare association of St Mary’s College, and Fr Edwin D’Souza, organizer of Nratyotsav–2010, was also present.
 
Over 1,000 participants from 43 colleges under Mangalore University are participating in the event.

    Congratulations to the Principal,Staff and the organizing committe of Nratyotsav 2010. It is a very good idea to conduct a talent show and providing the oppertunity for the students of various colleges to interact with one another. Good to see our lecturers and Specially Dr. Paul Rego who used to be our lecturer in the first two years in St. Mary's. All the best for your future programmes/activities.

    Excellent job by St. Mary's College, Shirva.
    What a response and what an idea ! Good initiative by the college to attract and promote talent which is plenty in the various colleges. From this contest, many rising stars will emerge and proceed to become successful in the field of arts and culture.
