St Agnes College Opens New Bldg of Centre for Post Graduation Studies and Research

Mangalore Aug 3: Management of St Agnes Collegehere  opened a new block to house the post graduate programmes at St Agnes Centre for Post Graduate (PG) Studies and Research on Tuesday August 3.

Mangalore diocese vicar general Fr Dennis Moras blessed the building and wished the students and faculty members to achieve great success in the coming years. Provincial superior Karnataka Province Sr M Linette inaugurated the college building.

In her inaugural speech she said that the building with all the modern facilities would help students grow to great heights.

Foundation stone of the building was laid by Dr Sr Olivia.

Speaking to Daijiworld Sr Maria Prem D’Souza said that the post graduation studies comprises MSc in Psychology, clinical psychology, chemistry, MCom and MA. All the PG programmes have been designed by the experts in the field.

Affiliation and sanction of MSc in clinical psychology under Rajiv Gandhi University and Health sciences, Bangalore will be started from the current academic year with the intake of only ten students. New credit based MSc chemistry will be started under Mangalore Univiersity from the academic year 2010- 2011. In this programme apart from general papers of chemistry, the students will be given opportunity to
take up project work exposed to teaching and research methodology and only twenty students will be admitted in a batch, she added.

Engineers, tiles contractors and all the other people responsible for the construction of the building were felicitated on the occasion.
