Kundapur: Five-month-old Baby Boy Abandoned - Parents Missing

Kundpur, Aug 5: In a heart-rending incident, a couple has abandoned five-month-old boy child in Jayanagar under Hosanagar police station limits and missing for over eight days.



The couple has been identified as Sachin and Jayanti alias Jyoti. Now the child is being looked after by Sachin's parents. Jyoti's parents, Manju and Abbu Poojary from Ardi-Bengalabettu of Albadi village here inform that after her marriage to Sachin, son of Babanna and Saroja of Jayanagar on April 29, 2009, she visited her native only twice. She did not pay a visit even when she was pregnant not after giving birth to the child, they add.

Jyoti's parents are tensed over the event as they fear for her and Sachin's life. Jyoti's father is bed-ridden, while her mother works for daily wages to support the family.

Sachin was working as a tempo driver at Manipal. It was here that Jyoti's brother got acquainted with Sachin leading to his marriage with Jyoti.

Sachin's parents are worried ever since their son and daughter-in-law are missing.

On being informed by Jyoti's brother, social worker Ardi Santhosh Shetty came to the rescue of Sachin's parents and informed the police on the matter. Subsequently, Sachin's parents have lodged a missing complaint with the Hosanagar police station. On Shetty's recommendation, Abhimani Sports Club has provided timely help to Sachin's aged parents, who are now looking after the child.
