Mangaluru: Railway officials return cash, gold forgotten inside train

Mangaluru, Apr 27: Konkan Railway Corporation provided ample proof of its sincerity and commitment to satisfy the passengers when a passenger who had forgotten his gold ornaments and cash inside a train got them back. The bag in which these things were kept also contained some important documents.

A passenger from Mulky, Venkatesh Shetty, had arrived at Mulky from Mumbai by Matsyagandha express train on Monday. He forgot to pick a bag containing 12 gram gold bangle, Rs 25,300 in cash and some important documents when alighting at Mulky station. After sometime, he realized his mistake and contacted the station master, who conveyed this information to ticket examiner, Babu, who was in the train. Babu conducted checks and found the bag, which he handed over to the office of the regional traffic manager. The officials then handed over the bag to Shetty.
