Karnataka records 35,024 fresh coronavirus cases, 270 deaths in single day

Bengaluru, Apr 29: The state on Thursday, April 29 recorded a spike of 35,024 fresh coronavirus cases.

As per the bulletin released by the state health department, the active cases in the state rose to 3,49,496. Bengaluru Urban alone reported a huge number of 19,637 cases on Thursday alone.

As many as 270 deaths due to coronavirus were reported on Thursday, with Bengaluru Urban recording 143 deaths and Ballari 16. With this, the toll so far has risen to 15,306.

Over 14,142 people were discharged from hospitals on Thursday, taking the total recoveries so far to 11,10,025.

So far, Karnataka has seen 14,74,846 positive cases so far.

Among the total active cases, 2,431 patients are currently admitted in ICUs across the state.

The positivity rate for the day stands at 19.92%, while the case fatality rate for the day is 0.77%. A total of 1,75,816 samples were tested between Wednesday and Thursday.

As many as 93,63,124 people have received vaccination so far in the state.

    it looks like something is horribly wrong with MH and KN in terms of covid figures.... fact is their density of infections (total infections / population) is less than many states. KN and MH have Bengaluru and Mumbai which cities are breadloaf providers to huge migrant population... not only the state capital, all district HQs in these two states have sizeable migrant populations... just compare KN figures with our small neighboring state which reported 35000 cases per day at last count...

    Let there be elections in all states and districts of India surely covid cases will reduce.

    Our country even after being in a bad state there are soo many rallies elections and so on. Let the country stop all this and then see the difference. If our people want fun as well cry in rise of cases that doesnt work. If each and every citizen takes their own responsibilities then india too can become covid free
