I can't understand why this function was not attracted by the many Mangaloreans. If the chair is not covered by the white cloths, many empty chairs could have seen.

I am surprised that only few of the muslim educational institutes have been invited or it should be Shafi and Bhatkali institutes only as a well known Hanafi institute which is running in Mangalore for the last 5 yrs is not invited. So the difference starts between the Muslim communities.

Dr. Haneef Shahab Bhatkal and Mr. A K Muhiuddeen Muscat, Both are commented in a healthy manner. That's what really everyone should have done. I wonder how many of us seriously tried to upbring the poors of our own community? At least we should not discourage someone who is trying to do something. Better late than never.

It has become a fashion to blame the community Leaders and Religious Scholars for our "Personal Sind and Setbacks"
The Leaders and Social Reformers Always tried and even today trying to bring AWARENESS on all aspects of life in the community. It is our sin that we do not heed to the need of the hour, and shut our Mouth, Eyes and Ears, (in Quranic words SUMMUN, BUKMUN...)
WE ourselves are to be blamed for our pathetic condition today as the great poet Dr. Md Iqbal said:
" Khuda ne aaj tak us qaum ki Halat nahiN badli,
Na ho jisko Khyal Khud halat ke Badalne Ka!!"

This must not be restricted to the conference only, just like a get- together.Move beyond that.Do some concrete work.We can see Harekal Hajabba is sitting in the back.Should have given a chance on the dias.May be he is not educated, poor financially, may not wear pant and tie ,but surely he is a star campaigner for education. The awareness he made in the field of education is tremendous. We can use him as an icon/ambassaodr for education awareness as the filmstars do for branded consumer products.

Mr Aboobacker Uppala,I rather disagree with the comment made by you that it is not selfishness of the muslim scholars for the backwardness in quranic education rather economic backwardness and other related reasons including general education. The matter is thing of past and now a days more muslim youths are understood the nececity of education including quranic one.Community leader's effort to educate muslim youths and govt of India's setting up an commission in this regard is highly appriciable.

"RABBI ZIDNI ILMA" This is What Holy Qura'an Says About Knowledge(Education). Holy Prophet Says In Search Of Knowledge(Education) One Should Go From Shaam(Syria) To Seen(China). Knowledge/Education Or Learning Is From "Womb" To "Tomb" Or "Cradle " To "Grave". Knowledge Is Power. This Is Clearly Evident That Seeking Knowledge / Education Has No Borders. But We Muslims, Because Of Our Ignorance Are Lagging Behind In Each & Evey Sphere Of Life. It Is The Duty Of Each & Everybody Of Us To Give Importance To "Moral & Professional"(Deen & Duniya) Education. Wealth Is Like A Guest, Which Can Be Snatched Away From Us Anytime, Without Our Knowledge, Whereas Education Or Knowledge Of Any Person Cannot Be Snatched By None, BUT IT Can Be Shared With Each & Everybody, For The Benefit Mankind. Hence, First & Fooremost It Is The Prime Duty Of Each & Every Parent To Give Their Best Towards Quality & Value Based Education Of Their Children. If Each & Every Individual Is Educated, This Will Give A Good Family Background & Good Upbringing, Which Forms A Good Citizen/Society, Which Has A Major Influence In A Strong Nation Building. Let Us Pray ALMIGHTY ALLAH TO BLESS ALL THE MANKIND WITH GOOD KNOWLEDGE/EDUCATION & GUIDE US IN HIS STRAIGHT PATH, INSHAH ALLAH., AAMEEN.

IT IS A WELCOME MOVE BY THE CENTRAL GOVERNMENT AUTHORITIES TO PLAN THE SET UP OF A SPECIAL COMMISSION TO SPREAD AWARENESS ON QURAN EDUCATION.MUSLIMS EXPERIENCED THE MAJOR SETBACK IN THE FIELD OF QURANIC EDUCATION IS DUE TO THE SELFISHNESS OF THE SCHOLARS FROM THE COMMUNITY TO KEEP THEM BACKWARD.IT WAS NECESSARY FOR SUCH SCHOLARS TO KEEP THE COMMUNITY BACKWARD TO HAVE A UPPER HAND OVER THEM TO LEAD A LAVISH LIFE.IN HOLY QURAN OUR CREATOR IS ASKING IN CHAPTER/54,VERSE/17,22,32&40 REPEATEDLY 4 TIMES SAME QUESTION "WE HAVE INDEED MADE THE QURAN EASY TO UNDERSTAND AND REMEMBER:THEN IS THERE ANY THAT WILL RECEIVE ADMONITION?"
