Mangalore: Bearys Cultural Forum Holds Educational Scholarship Meet

Mangalore Aug 8: Bearys Cultural Forum (BCF) Educational Scholarship Meet - Mangalore 2010 was held at Loyala Hall, St Aloysius Pre-university College on Sunday August 8.

Mangalore kazi Twaka Ahmed Musliyar blessed the programme.

Speaking at the programme, he said that the community should concentrate on the cultural and religious development with youth not leaning towards western culture and upholding religious values.

BCF president Dr B K Yusuf said the community should take education initiative and take all the advantages from the forums like BCF and many others, who are working hard on the development of the Muslim community. Muslims from the poor class should involve in all the development-related projects, he added.

Fiza Developers and Inter Trade Pvt Ltd Bangalore managing director B M Farook in his keynote address said that there is a need for Muslim community to support whole-heartedly to the cause of education and welfare of the youth. The strategy of the association has to be changed by changing from providing cash awards to scholarships for poor who enter into engineering and medical courses.















District in-charge minister J Krishna J Palemar in his address said that the Bearys Education Forum should be extended to the rural areas of the district to help educate the students there. Though the government has programmes for the development of the backward communities, rich people from the community should help the poor people in the education and development, thus creating educated society, he added.

Mangalore University vice chancellor T C Shivashankar Murthy addressing the gathering said that education is vital for the development of an individual and the society. There are many government projects for the development of the backward community.

BCF, UAE honorary general secretary Dr Kaup Mohamed welcomed the gathering. BCF vice-president M E Muloor, District Wakf Advisory Committee president Yenepoya Mohammed Kunhi, district Congress minority cell chairman Moideen Bava, Thumbay Educational Institutions B Ahamed Haji Mohiuddin, Karnataka Pradesh Congress Committee member M B Noor Mohammed, St Aloysius College Prof John Edward D'Silva and Zakaria Bajpe, Anabeeb, KSA among others were present.
