Mangaluru: Clarion call for youth - Highest infection in DK among youngsters

Daijiworld Media Network - Mangaluru (SP)

Mangaluru, May 10: Coronavirus infection is getting stronger with each day. The worrying fact is that during the last two months, over 50 percent of those who got infected with COVID19 were youngsters.

Compared to the first wave of the pandemic, the second wave is spreading very fast. Every day, many of the positive cases comprise young people.

The doctors attribute this phenomenon to the unbridled movement, social life without taking enough care, and callousness towards the disease. In the Coronavirus first wave, those aged over 60 had higher chances of getting the infection. The youngsters had less chances of getting the infection as they normally have stronger immunity against diseases. But now, the youngsters are falling prey to the infection easily because of their own recklessness.

The fact that the youngsters are showing utter negligence towards the risks posed by coronavirus is worrying. The statistics warn that this attitude of the young people poses grave danger. Even when lockdown is imposed, many young people are seen roaming around recklessly. Another major reason for the youngsters getting infected is that they overlook the importance of following corona guidelines.

Dakshina Kannada district health officer, Dr Kishore Kumar, says that compared to the first wave, the second wave is spreading very fast, and over 50 percent of the infected persons are youth, which is a serious matter. He noted that young people unnecessarily loiter on the road even when curfew is in force and warned that coronavirus can be brought under control only through strict adherence to the COVID guidelines.

Police personnel should do patrolling on interior roads of the city. Boys nicely go for double rides/triple rides and WITHOUT MASKS. People gather, plsy badminton, roam, visit here and there etc. When you find such law breakers, please treat them in such a way that , they should think 100 times before coming out from their house next time.

We see your concern about spread of assumed pandemic in all your comments in the past too. To be frank healthy people don't spread the virus, secondly if people's immunity has to be kept at optimum level, youngsters need to go out more & play which the unscientific measures had curtailed last year which is the cause we didn't see end to this plannedemic. When all the measures are based on assumptions of asymptomatic spread which is again based on fake test kits all the media hype has created an atmosphere of fear & panic which is the main cause of decline in immunity & more deaths. Don't worry about others as your health is dependent on your efforts & not based on what others do. Lastly this disease was, is & never will be a pandemic in first place, we all have been taken for a big ride. But some countries even in Africa showed how this game can be defeated, we still lag in 19th century compared to their wisdom & educated leaders they have.

Either government was sleeping or busy in implementing unimportant laws/elections, horse trading toppling other party governments etc. etc.. Just now woke up after pandemic situation goes out of control, they had one year of time since last year's lock down to avoid for covid second wave.

On TV in Mumbai last evening they showed staff from a hospital in Bihar dispose of unclaimed Covid bodies in the river. The ambulance brings the bodies and the workers carry them to the river.I sent this info to some one last night. It is not just in U.P. They are running out of wood which has jumped up in cost and families don't want the bodies. They can't even have a glimpse of it in any case. Besides villagers, hospitals are also dumping the unclaimed bodies. Situation so much better in Mumbai . .

Thomas Aquin, Mangalore.....I am confused. If a dead body is seen by his relatives from a distance of 3 ft Corona spreads. If it is thrown into Ganges (or in water) corona doesn't spread...!!!!????? If a live person keeps a distance of 3 ft from another live corona infected person it is O.K. If you go to theatres to watch movies (Not Now during lockdown) Corona doesn't spread. If Corona is spread from the droplets of a person who breathes, then why it is dangerous to go near a dead body....?????? I fail to understand this logic. Can anybody let me know the logic please....!!!!!???? if at all there is an understandable logic exists .

Good News if it is true. Herd Immunity is possible only if it spreads faster which indicates mortality rate will plummet faster which is now only 0.003%. Now the health authorities have stopped tests of healthy people and the number will decline of fake infections. Once all the tests are stopped corona will disappear within a week or two.

If last year also they were testing with the same zeal and gusto like now, they would have found all the youngsters with this. If you test every single human being, 95% will have had it or are currently having it. What do you do then?

..Hope opposition reads this..Doctors didnt blame Modi..they blame reckless behaviour of individuals..Its not Kumba mela also..UP is largest state, 90% attendees are from UP but UP positive case far less compared to Punjab, Maharastra, Delhi .eventhough Govt/media (for political reason) not telling exact reason for spread, i suspect its farmers protest which lead to this crisis..Punjab Congress govt fueled farm protest which is attended by many UK/Canadian/EU(UK variant muted in india spreading havoc)..Election rallies only to blame to Modi (didnt opposition rally , they won 3 states!) ..there were no elections in Punjab/Haryana/Maharastra..

Ranga, Being a PM, he should behave like head of Govt of Republic and Model Leader Sadly, our PM interested in winning election rather than touring the entire India , meeting CM's and checking ground level work with CM. He was interested in World Tour with Luxury. Remember during the time second World war Hitler bombed Britain, But PM Winston Churchill never relaxed in Downing street office, but toured entire UK, given moral support to Citizens, wiped their tears. But our Union Health Minister openly said, we have won the battle against Corona. Secondly, Even in WB election rallies he has openly insulted Mamata and expose his low dignity. He was roaring in peculiar voice " Didi" . One BJP leader openly said that Mamata has to wear Bermuda Chaddi but our PM never condemn this. The way BJP used low level language against Bengali Lady, became winning weapon of TMC....Remember no one tolerate if anyone especially outsider come and insult native women. Third, even in Kumbha Mela, WB , Kerala, TN election, many BJP cadre went from various state and now you analyze , who was responsible.....??????
