Muscat, AUg 11: 13th August 2010 – A date to be on the calendar of all Mangaloreans in Muscat. MCCP committee, known for its cultural events, is hosting “MCCP Inaugural Day 2010”. 

This day aims at introducing the new committee of MCCP for the year 2010-2011; followed by an entertainment program. 

The function will commence with holy mass in Konkani at 10:30a.m. by MCCP's Spiritual Director - Rev. Fr. Albert D'Silva OFM Cap, current parish priest of Holy Spirit Church, Ghala.

As officially announced the entertainment and cultural program will commence at 12.00 noon. The program will be a thorough entertainer for all wherein the talent of the community’s youth and children will be presented.  What’s a programme without giveaways – an enthralling finish to the programme will be the bonanza draw and prizes. A sumptuous Traditional Mangalorean lunch will be served on that day.

Monica Dantis- President of MCCP, says “ The tremendous effort & dedication of  the  Executive Team makes me feel very proud and confident that the coming year will be an exciting year for all members. The inaugural function is an opening of the year filled with exciting events. We urge all the members to come and participate in this function. It would be great to see our members participate in large numbers in our future programs too.  This year is specially dedicated to all our dear fathers keeping a theme “Father : Friend first, Guide forever (Bapoi : Mithr Poilo Rakhno Sadancho)”. I call upon all of you to honour our dear fathers and pamper them.  And, you all fathers sit back and enjoy this year.”

Lancy Lobo – Vice President says, Cultural. Spiritual and Community Services Committees, shares his thoughts saying “ This year is an era to be remembered by all Muscat Mangaloreans for many years to come. The unique bonding at MCCP is just not about events and programs but is the zeal of keeping our culture alive. Our bonding and tribute to our community and motherland will be highlighted in all  programs that will be present this year. Importance will be given to our mother language Konkani.”   He seeks a wholehearted cooperation and support from all his fellow Mangaloreans to make this year a memorable one for all.

As announced by the executive committee, the meritorious students of the 10th and 12th grade of the community of the year 2009- 2010 will also be honored on this day for their excellent academic performance.
