Rahul Gandhi to Visit Mysore on BJP 'Jagruti Samavesha’ Eve

Rahul Gandhi to Visit Mysore on BJP 'Jagruti Samavesha’ Eve

From Our Special Correspondent
Daijiworld Media Network - Mysore

Mysore, Aug 11: A day before the much-trumpeted 'Jagruti Samavesha' of  ruling BJP in the state on Saturday August 14, which will be attended by chief minister B S Yeddyurappa and the Bellary Reddy Brothers among other BJP leaders, AICC general secretary and Congress party’s heir apparent Rahul Gandhi will be visiting the city, the cultural capital of the state.

However, Rahul Gandhi’s visit, coming close on the heels of the successful Bangalore to Bellary padayatra and a mammoth rally in Bellary city on August 9 which virtually shattered the peace and confidence of the Bellary Mining Lords as well as the ruling BJP regime in the state, will not have too much of political overtones.

The Congress general secretary will be arriving in Bangalore on the morning on Friday August 13 and will fly to Mysore to attend a programme at St Philomena's College.

According to Fr Leslie Moras, principal of St Philomena’s College here, Rahul Gandhi will have a 90-minute-long interaction with the students from 10.15 am.

About 400 students will participate in the interaction, Fr Moras said explaining that the programme was planned as part of the Independence Day celebrations. The young leader will focus on the topic 'Future of India and Youth.' Rahul Gandhi and the students will exchange views on their vision for tomorrow's India, Fr Moras said.

Rahul Gandhi, who has been mobilising the youth to join politics in several states, will also hold discussions with the National Students Union of India (NSUI), the Student Congress, regarding the strategies to galvanise the organisation in four districts of the state during his two-day visit, NSUI said.

After the programme in Mysore, Rahul Gandhi will fly to Shimoga and Hubli-Dharwad the same day to hold an interaction session with students. He will stay overnight at Hubli. The security personnel have already arrived in Mysore to inspect the venue in view of his visit.

Aam Aadmi Ka Sepoy (AAKS) zonal in-charge, Dasharath Rai said that Rahul Gandhi will visit Gulbarga on August 14. He will return to Bangalore the same day and fly back to Delhi.

According to sources, Rahul Gandhi may even stay at a Dalit's house during his visit to Hubli as he had done in his home constituency Amethi.

This is the second visit of Rahul Gandhi to Mysore region in the last two years. It was on the eve of Assembly elections that he had roadshows in B R Hills, Chamarajanagar, Nanjangud and H D Kote.

Meanwhile, Congress leaders sought to clarify that Rahul Gandhi’s visit to Karnataka had nothing to do with the success of their padayatra.

CM to visit Mysore on August 12 and 14:

Incidentally, the chief minister is expected to visit the city on Thursday August 12, stay overnight and proceed to Mangalore the next morning.

Yeddyurappa is scheduled to arrive in Mysore by helicopter on Thursday morning to dedicate the new cardiology unit of Jayadeva Institute of Cardiology and Research in K R Hospital at 11.45 am, before taking part in the related function at the Platinum Jubilee auditorium in J K Grounds.

The chief minister will also preside over the high-level Dasara committee meeting at 3 pm at the deputy commissioner's office. He will also release a documentary on Nalvadi Krishnaraja Wadiyar.

The CM will be visiting Mysore again on August 14 to take part in the ruling party’s Jagruti Samavesha at Maharaja's College Grounds at 11.30 am.

Truth is always bitter. Dear all those who are over jealous of Rahul Gandhi, please note that he is future of India. He is budding youth icon. Whatever he may be, he is not like his cousin who loves hate and beleives in violence Look at Priyanka, how graceful she is. People like Mahendra Shetty, cant digest the truth and Rahuls popularity makes him sick and mad.

Absolutely Mr.The Guru, i have not done anything and i am not in a position where i can make a difference to the society, but at the same time i DO NOT MAKE  comments like Mr.Raj and Mr.Mahendra, Rahul Gandhi may have done so many things, but it is not practical or possible to publish each and everything he does.

If Rahul can set his home ‘Karnataka congress’ right, that’s the greatest contribution and it’s the stepping stone of success to so called "Real congress", if really exist. The people of Karnataka would definitely support Rahul, if he could revive KPCC. This needs brave decision to shunt out some old engines, those are only making noise, not able to pull forward.
People ousted Congress, not because they liked BJP, but were frustrated with state congress.
    All the best Rahul.

Here we have a young politician with a rich political background but humble, sincere and with the charisma to attract youth of India. He is trying to bring the democratic changes in his own party and attract intelligent youth to the political arena.

He is able to instill young blood in the congress and change the old thoughts. So today we can see young leaders in congress. We do not see such charismatic leaders in other party including BJP and still outdated thoughts remain.

Young people see the future in him and if he continues to remain sincere, then he can carry the young India along for the bright future of India.

Mr.Raj & Mahendra, what are your contributions / acheivements which has benefited our country India, i can understand Ratan Tata or APJ Kalam questioning Rahul about his contributions to this country, but.....!
If you really want to change the political situation in India, get into politics and clean the mess, not just commenting from a posh apartment in Dubai.

Dear Fathima and Neil (if at all it is your real name), Before telling Rahul to show the guts in the media, at least have the guts to mention your real name in the media. Rahul is known as Rahul and not a pseudo name. And what guts you are talking about? Can anybody travel in the local train in a mighty shivasena state? Isn’t it because of his guts Congress won the seats in UP?
I agree with Maxon and Nithin. Mr Mahendra Shetty, so you mean Rahul should have the qualities of Varun Gandhi talking nonsence in the media? Have you all thought anytime why only Rahul is invited in such student convention? Isn’t it because of his good qualities? And Mahendraji, it is Indira Gandhi not Indira Gnadi.
Bravo Rahul Gandhi, you are the future leader of India. The young generation is with you. Jai Ho…

Mr Felix, Just try to know these scenarios, Mr Yeddi had been to wish the Archbishop & not for any other reason visible other than assumptions, but the above scenario is a different one why is Mr. Ghandhi invited by Fr. Moras not for his good & its not for any celebaration, as a birthday etc he is invited as a young potential leader to interact with students. The asumption is yours the way you take it.

Greetings. With reference to Yeddy greeting the Archbishop, You pointed out, that politicians will not go a extra mile, if there is no benifit to them.

Now what do you have to say to Fr Moras for going a extra Mile to invite a politician to attend a programme at St Philomenas college.???

Come on Fathima, Mangalore, just because something happened in Amethi, the Lok Sabha constituency represented by Rahul Gandhi, are you suggesting that he is responsible. If he or anybody close to him had anything to do with what happened, would you think Mayawati or even Mulayam would have let it go without doing anything? This is 2010 and not the India of 60 years back. Be sensible.
