Mangalore: Awareness Week on Solid Waste Management’ at St Agnes Winds Up

Mangalore, Aug 13: An awareness week on Solid Waste Management’ held as a part of its continuing action plan by the department of commerce, St Agnes College (Autonomous) concluded on Friday August 13.

On Monday an oath-taking ceremony and a rally inside the college campus was organized. A paper bag-making demonstration was held on the next day. A video show on Solid Waste Management was held on Wednesday. An exhibition on ‘Wealth from waste’ was organized on Thursday. A tableau on waste management was presented on Friday.

In addition to these activities, an hour of educative programme on Solid Waste Management was organized for the students of final year, second year and first year on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday respectively. The programme consisted of a mime show, skit and a dance drama. Dr Devi Prabha Alva was the staff co-ordinator of the programme.
