Mangaluru: Boy drowns in river when swimming

Mangaluru, May 17: A boy who went into River Falguni drowned in the river on Sunday May 16.

The incident happened at Uddabettu near Mallur here on Sunday. The victim was Mansoor, son of Abdul Khader from Uddabettu.

Mansoor was playing near the river along with friends. He then ventured into the river to swim and to catch fish. On this occasion, he was caught in the undercurrent and dragged away. The others immediately jumped into the river and tried to save Mansoor's life but their efforts failed.

A case of unnatural death in this respect was filed in the rural police station here.
