Puttur, May 20: "Congress party is directly responsible for the loss of lives suffered due to the second wave of coronavirus. The party which claims itself to be patriotic and that it won freedom for India, has been involved with anti -national activities," said Dakshina Kannada MP and state BJP president, Nalin Kumar Kateel.

Addressing a press meet here on Wednesday May 19, Nalin said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi inspired the scientists to undertake research and invent a vaccine. "The Congress undertook widespread malicious propaganda, branding the vaccine as a BJP vaccine. Siddaramaiah and other leaders criticized the vaccine and discouraged the people from getting it. Therefore, initially very few people came forward to get vaccinated. This is the reason for the deaths we are witnessing now. Therefore, Congress party is directly responsible," he said.

He charged the Congress of blaming the central government of failing to stop the march of corona, and accused the Congress of indulging in tool kit gimmicks. "The Congress is glorifying things like burning of bodies, floating of bodies in rivers, oxygen shortage etc in the social media and by these methods, is trying to hurt the image of the country. This is nothing but treachery," he said. He urged the Congress to stop doing such things and join hands with the BJP in facing the challenge posed by coronavirus.
