Mangaluru: False, misleading, confusing statements by MP Shobha spoil respect – Catholic Sabha

Daijiworld Media Network – Mangaluru (EP)

Mangaluru, May 20: Responding to the recent statement over Covid vaccinations by MP Shobha Karandlaje, Catholic Sabha in its press release on May 20 stated that Catholic Sabha Mangaluru Pradesh strongly condemns her irresponsible statement.

The Catholic community has provided its service in all the churches of the diocese of Dakshina Kannada district under the leadership of Catholic Sabha through Covid warriors without expecting publicity. It has created awareness for everybody to get vaccinated across religion and caste. The organization warriors themselves have accompanied the people for vaccination. Catholic educational institutes and auditoriums are converted into Covid care centres and offered to the department and district administration.

Bishop, priests, nuns and catholic leaders have gone ahead getting vaccinated and encouraging others to do so. The false statement by MP Shobha Karandlaje is unfortunate and painful. The Catholic community is distributing food kits and medical help and providing special service to society. It is being done within all the church limits.

Instead of false allegations, we request MP Shobha, to make sure that people in the state receive vaccines soon and solve the problems of citizens. Catholic Sabha completely cooperates in the work taken up by elected representatives, government, district administration and various government departments. The organization has already written about it to the deputy commissioner vide letter no CS/CORRES/070/2020-21 dated May 3 stated the Catholic Sabha Mangaluru Pradesh president Stany Lobo.
