Bantwal, May 21: “Corona can be defeated only by the good work and cooperation of task force officials and villagers,” said MLA Rajesh Naik Ulippadiguthu. He was speaking at the Kolnad gram panchayat task force committee meeting on Friday. “Taskforce committee should not hesitate to take legal action against those who violate Covid protocol,” he said.

“Everybody should work realizing their responsibilities. This is not a suitable time to waste blaming each other. Vaccinations are being arranged soon. But caution is necessary till then. Follow the government guidelines. Everybody should be free from the virus by getting the vaccination.

“Everybody should be determined to make their respective grams Covid free. Obtain details of primary and secondary contacts; get them examined for the virus if they have Covid symptoms. Meanwhile, keep a watch on the infected.

“Work in unison under the leadership of the task force committee president. You should have details of every work that is being performed in the gram. There are six Corona infected cases in Kolnad gram at present. All of them are in home isolation and are otherwise in good health,” he said.

Bantwal tahsildar Rashmi S R gave details on getting vaccinated. “Do not create confusion over vaccinations. The department will vaccinate everybody,” she said.

Gram panchayat president Nabisa, vice president Subhaschandra Shetty, secretary Ayisha Banu, tahsildar Rashmi S R, Buda president Devadas Shetty, taluk panchayat EO Rajanna, revenue inspector Diwaker, village accountant Anil, task force committee and officers were present.
