Mangaluru, May 21: A case is registered at Ullal police station against a person who obstructed Kinya gram panchayat development officer and staff from performing their duties.

Kinya Belaringe resident Sakir was sitting without wearing a face mask near KBM general store, Belaringe. Kinya gram panchayat development officer Mohammed Ashraf and staff had warned him. Sakir meanwhile argued with them saying that he is sitting in his house yard and the mask is not necessary. “Who are you to ask me? Do what you like,” he said.

The gram panchayat development officer has lodged a police complaint at Ullal police station in this connection. A case under the Epidemic Diseases Act is registered against Sakir on the basis of the complaint.

@Manish, people are being texted/called depending on their seniority. People who got the first dose of covaxin by end of March are almost done. You should get a call/text in 7 to 10 days.(This is how wenlock vaccination centre is handling it for people from nearby localities, not sure about outskirts of Mangalore). In the meantime you can go to the place where you got the first dose and check if second dose is going to be given there . If not, check with the closest urban primary health centre(uphc) or primary health centre(phc). Make sure the list of beneficiaries from the panchayat office is sent there (or check with the panchayat office where it is sent). If that doesn't work, contact wenlock ayush centre . They should be able to guide you. But you should be able to get your query answered at the nearest uphc/phc. The main thing is if you are not getting the second dose at the original location, make sure if the list of beneficiaries is transferred and find out which uphc/phc it is transferred. That health centre will let you know how they will contact you or they might ask you to come on a certain date. Cheers.
