Mangaluru: 7,840 mask rule violation cases in twin districts

Mangaluru, May 24: Between April 22 and May 23, Dakshina Kannada district police registered 7,636 cases of mask rule violation. At the same time, Udupi district police filed 204 such cases.

Both the districts have been strictly implementing various restrictions imposed by the government, which are meant to regulate the spread of coronavirus infection. In Dakshina Kannada district, a total of 840 vehicles have been confiscated while in Udupi district, 1,019 vehicles were taken into custody.

Dakshina Kannada district superintendent of police, Rishikesh Donawane and Udupi superintendent of police, Vishnuvardhan, have asserted that the rules will be continued to be enforced strictly till June 7 as lockdown rules have been extended till then.
