Bengaluru, May 25: Chief minister (CM) B S Yediyurappa, has said that bed shortage for the coronavirus-infected persons in the state has been addressed and as of now, three thousand beds and a thousand oxygen beds are available.

He was speaking to the media during his visit to the Covid war room of the east zone of the city on Monday May 24. He admitted that the state indeed is faced with the shortage of vaccines. He assured to take steps to see that such problems do not crop up hereafter.

Referring to the adverse comments made by leader of the opposition, Siddaramaiah, about the package announced by the government for those who faced acute problems on account of lockdown, the chief minister said that the package was announced within the limitations of the government. He said he is aware of what Siddaramaiah had done when he was the chief minister under similar circumstances. He promised to consider extending help to classes of people who did not get any benefit out of the package now announced.

To a question, he termed as false the notion that the top leaders of the party have decided to conduct performance appraisals of the ministers. He asserted that no such development has taken place.
