Konkani Utsav Held at Kalaangann to Mark Konkani Manyata Divas

Mangalore, Aug 19: The inaugural ceremony of  two-day of Konkani singing and dance competitions  - ‘Konkani Utsav’ organized by Mandd Sobhann, Konkani Prachar Sanchalan, Naach Sobhann and Konkani Yuva Awaz on the occasion ‘Konkani Manyatha Divas-2010’ took place at Kalaangann on Thursday August 19 at 9.30am. The chairman of Bank of Maharastra Allen C A. Pereira was the chief guest. 

Eric Ozario, gurkaar Mandd Sobhann welcomed the gathering and introduced the chief guest. The chief Guest then hosted the Konkani flag and inaugurated the Konkani Utsav. In his message he gave a call to all Konkanis to preserve the musical language Konkani. He also announced a fixed deposit of Rs 1,001 in the Bank of Maharastra to the youngest participant in the competitions. 

The president of Mandd Sobhann, Louie J Pinto, president of Konkani Prachar Sanchalan Roy Castelino,   president of Konkani Yuva Awaz Roshan Castelino, and the leader of Naach Sobhann Avil D’Cruz were present.
