Udupi, May 27: 21 people including children at Krishnanugraha, adoption centre at Santhekatte tested positive for Covid-19.
There are 29 people including orphan children, specially-abled and special children in the centre. Tests were conducted on all of them including ten staff members. The reports are received on Wednesday and the entire building is sealed down.
“Corona was found among 12 children among those below 14 years of age and nine staff members,” said district health and family welfare officer, Dr Sudhir Chandra Sooda.
17 children and two staff members who were found to be negative are being accommodated in the nearby Dhanvantari Nursing Home. Those who were found infected are kept and treated at Krishnanugraha Ashram itself. Doctors examine children below 14 years of age twice a day every day. The doctors said that none of them had Covid symptoms.
