Bangalore: BJP MLA Decides to Resign from Party

Daijiworld Media Network – Bangalore (SP)

Bangalore, Aug 21: Doddaballapur BJP MLA, J Narasimha Swamy, who also happens to be the chairman of the state Slum Clearance Board, has decided to tender his resignation from the party and the post of the MLA. “In politics, we can ably counter the enemies who attack us from outside. But the harassment being heaped on me by my own family is becoming unbearable. I am deeply hurt. Hence, I have decided to meet the Chief Minister and hand over my resignation,” he said.

He was speaking to reporters on Friday August 20, just before a programme of his interaction, organized with various organizations at the taluk panchayat auditorium of  Doddaballapur taluk about the development of this assembly constituency, was to begin.

“My father and former union minister, R L Jalappa, and other family members, have been taking certain decisions, which have been causing me humiliation. During the election to be held for the local municipality, it was decided to make K M Hanumantarayappa, former BJP district president and state executive committee member, the president. This decision was taken by the state level meeting of BJP leaders. But my brother, J Rajendra and others have together hatched a plan to elevate a JDS man to the post of the municipal president. When such things are being done against my interests, I feel I am not justified in continuing,” he explained.

With this decision, the proposed programme in which he was to participate, got cancelled all of a sudden. In the meanwhile, R L Jalappa said that he has nothing to do with his son’s decision. Speaking to media men, he said that Narasimha Swamy is mature, and is capable of taking his own decisions, and that there was no pressure on the MLA from the family to do anything which is against his conscience.

It may be recalled that Narasimha Swamy, who was a Congress MLA, had resigned from the post and got re-elected as a BJP MLA in Operation Kamala. It was speculated then, that R L Jalappa had encouraged his son to join the BJP, because of his resentment against certain state Congress leaders.

BJP MLA's resignation will do no difference except making him a scape goat. Try to change the system, reform the Beggar Homes and involve MNCs & Religious Organisations to partly adopt such homes and most impotantly make them act as a Task Force so that they will see to their living conditions like balanced/hygienic food, skin diseases/other health ailments, bathing facilities, tidy clothing etc. Religious organisation should involve for such causes than involving in dirty politics.

Jalappa and family misusing political instabilty to their benefit. It is strange thing Jalappa's son current MLA, complaining about his family problem is a reason to resign his membership. In recent past Jalappa an ex minister in state and centre, had desentmrnt with cong and decided to put his two legs in two boats. However,in the recent past when Yeddy had read his name in assembly in the list of illeagal mining,he got annoyed and taken a decision to embrrass BJP.So this episode is purely political and need not worry at least for the time being.

Good riddance. He had no party loyalty in the past nor even to his own father, R L Jalappa. Now he wants to be a martyr. He should not only resign from BJP but take sanyas from politics. Many more such elements must be rooted out. I only wish that everybody ignores him & allow him to fade away. We don't need this kind of turncoats.
