Chikkamagaluru, May 28: Sundar from Channadlu village near Kottigehara in the district has been paralysed and bedridden for the last many years. He was attacked by his own son with an axe relating to a monetary dispute.

Sundar's son, Nikhesh, reportedly argued with his father on money matters on the night of Wednesday May 26. In a fit of rage, he attacked his father with an axe. Sundar, who was seriously injured, was taken to Hassan hospital. The doctors there advised him to be taken to Bengaluru. As the family could not put together enough money needed for ambulance and treatment charges, the injured man was brought back to his village. On Thursday, the villagers put together money and sent to a hospital in Mangaluru by an ambulance.
