Bengaluru, May 29: Mohalla Clinic programme is successfully implemented in Delhi by Aam Aadmi party. It is learnt that the Karnataka government is also mulling to open clinics in that model in the state.

The state government is mulling of opening these clinics under the National Urban Health Mission (NUHM) scheme and name the scheme as Janarogya Kshema Kendra. BBMP is going to maintain these clinics as per sources.

At present there are 141 primary health care centers in Bengaluru in 141 wards while the rest 57 wards does not have any primary health care centers.

Nodal officer Prabhu Gowda said, “Medical officers, lab technicians, pharmacist and group D workers have worked in heath care centers.”

It is learnt that the BBMP has already started the recruitment process and the centers are likely to start functioning from the second week of June. These centers are opened near ward offices or government offices. If the respective ward does not have any government office or BBMP building then private building will be hired for the purpose. As per the information given by Gowda, every health center will work from 9 am to 3 pm. Pharmacy and testing labs will be attached to every center. Every laboratory will test general tests including urine test. For more treatment, the patients will be referred to nearby government hospitals. In coming days the centers will be upgraded in big hospitals.
