Bantwal, May 29: YCS unit of St Joseph Church Borimar, has started a campaign called ‘Get vaccinated to defeat coronavirus’ to create awareness among people.

In order to achieve 100% vaccination of the Christian community in Mogarnad, Soorikemuru, Shaambooru, Vittla, Peruvai, Salettur, Manila and Delamtambettu, the YCS unit of St Joseph Church Borimar, has started the campaign.

Under the campaign, YCS Soorikemuru unit president Reema Pinto has requested parish priests of 8 parishes to appeal to the Christian community to get vaccinated. WhatsApp is being used to communicate with people. A video clip appealing people to get vaccinated is being circulated.

Only if necessary, come out of houses. Use masks, maintain social distancing, and take the vaccine.” The video is in Konkani language.

YCS Soorikumeru unit co-ordinator Anita Roshan Martis congratulated the eight parish priests for the video clip motivating the Christian community. The campaign has received wide appreciation from people for efforts taken in creating awareness.
