Daijiworld Impact : Padubidri –Karkala Commuters get a Sigh of Relief

Udupi, Aug 22: The commuters of Padubidri - Karkala main road finally got a sigh of relief after the authorities responded by filling the potholes on this road with patch-up works.
It can be recalled that on the day of India's independence, daijworld had carried an exclusive pictorial story of the pathetic situation of this road. On a very next day, authorities inspected the road between Padubidri and Nandikoor and realized the need for undertaking the patchwork. The huge potholes have been filled with mud and cement on the following days and now motorists and other vehicles are able comfortably drive through this road.
"We do not know what made them to repair the road all of a sudden. For past two months no one bothered to listen to our complaints or see our difficulties. But soon after independence day they began to fill the potholes” said a resident of Nandikoor, who was unaware of the detailed report published on daijiworld.com.
Though one is skeptical about how long the patch work is going to stay, it has certainly given a temporary relief to the commuters and the pedestrians who were going throw a harrowing experience travelling through this important road. Many vehicles including Express buses ply regularly on this road that leads to important destinations such as Nitte group of institutions, Attur Church etc.
Daijiworld team had visited the area and published a detailed report along with photographs that gave a tell-tale picture of the awful condition of the road and the problems it created to the vehicles and the general public and also the apathy of the district administration and the elected representatives .
