Mangaluru, May 31: Presidency School & Presidency PU College, was recently recognized as the Best School (CBSE), Mangaluru & Best Pre-University College, Mangaluru at the Times Business Awards 2021 - Mangaluru | Mysuru | Hubli by The Times of India Group, which was aimed at identifying and encouraging businesses from these cities for innovation, progress and success. Presidency Group received the award from the Bollywood celebrity Suniel Shetty.
The school and college has stood out as they have been excelling not only in academics, but also, in sports and co-curricular activities for over 45 years. Presidency PU College, Mangaluru, offers day and residential programmes in science and commerce. Science stream comprises combination of PCMB and PCMC. Commerce stream with CEBA and MSBA .The pandemic only propelled their safety and security levels further as they enhanced precautions at the campus along with increased nutrition in the food provided to students to boost immunity. The college has a coaching programme integrated with board education aimed at competitive examinations like JEE Main & Advanced, CET, NEET, KVPY, NEST and CA Foundation etc.
The campus has three main blocks - academic block, an admin block and the hostel block. The academic block houses spacious and well ventilated and scientifically designed classrooms. The learning atmosphere is livened with brightly painted furniture and colourful display boards. It provides the right ambience for an effective learning experience at college. The spacious auditorium doubles up as an indoor activity area. Every classroom is very child friendly.
Presidency College has science laboratories that speak volumes of their own. The outdoor games facilities are a specialty at Presidency College. They have a playground for outdoor games including cricket, football, volleyball, throwball, basketball, skating rink, badminton court, running track and swimming pool. The sporting arena at Presidency has seen a new dimension altogether whether it is in cricket, football, basketball, swimming, athletics, skating, yoga or any other sport. Every year, inter school swimming and inter school skating are activities conducted in the campus.
