Mangaluru: 13-day novena inaugurated at St Anthony's Ashram

Media Release

Mangaluru, May 31: Fr Dr Ronald Serrao the rector of St Joseph Inter-Diocesan Seminary, Jeppu inaugurated the Tredecina (13-day novena) by hoisting St Anthony’s flag in preparation for the annual feast of St Anthony. He then offered the Holy Mass and preached the homily. In his homily, Fr Serrao said, "The proper way of pleasing God Almighty is spending our lives in the service of humanity. These days there are many people who need our help. If we reach out to them and try to lessen their problems it would be the best way of worshipping God. Mother Mary whose feast is celebrated today did that very same thing."

During the 13 days, novena prayers will be offered for various needs (labourers, unemployed, parents, humanity that is suffering) and especially for overcoming 'Covid-19'.

Fr Roshan D’Souza the assistant director conducted the novena prayers on the first day of the novena. Fr Onil D’Souza the director of the Ashram gave the introduction. The novena devotions are live streamed on Divine Word TV and across other social media platforms as people will not be able to participate in person.
